I get this message most of the time after I finish and quit UT, it says "Runtime Error! program C:\UT2004\System\UT2004.exe" "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual wa. Please contact the application's support team for more information."

I have no idea what this means since it has never kicked me out of a game, it's just waiting for me after. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with me losing the visual ammo on waves past 13, because everything in my computer should be able to exceed normal settings but something's not right, plus when I lose the bullets my fps do not change from normal. I have no idea if they are connected, but I figured I should bring up anything strange that UT has been doing...

I periodically used to get that same message awhile back. If you're running Windows, when was the last time you went to the MS Web Site and got your OS upgrades?

My issue started after a "Latest and Greatest" dwnld from them and went away with the followup patch they had.

In any event, it sounds like an OS vs Application fist fight to me.

Just a thought.

Could be, if it isn't causing too much strife, leave it be until the next patch comes out.

If it is causing you grief, or if you want to see if this is the culprit, uninstall the patch through the Windows program removal app. It should be listed in there.

it's not too bad, it's not kicking me out of the game so nothing to worry about... I just wanted to know what may be the culprit behind a few minor glitches I've had, thanks for your advice

Oh, one more thing, if you are getting the "Report Bug to MS" thing, by all means report the bug. They prioritize fixes based on volume of incident. The more bug reports, the higher on the to be done list it goes.

hmmm... I read about it on their sight amongst their forums and they haven't come up with where the error is occurring. They suggested to someone(who's had the same error) that it could be a bonus map pack, and that the map I was loading was missing packages. However the person re-installed UT and it still occurred, so I guess they're still working on this problem, I'm just glad it hasn't inhibited playing so far! I'll keep checking their forums for updates, just have to wait...

I need some more help! I just got this error which kicked me off the map Coldfront... It was about wave 9 and UT shut down giving me this message.

That second problem look like it has to do with voice chat. Maybe it was just an unexpected bug.

And for the other problem, try exiting the game a different way, like typing "exit" in the console (~). See if that gives you the same problem.

Ok I'll give that a try... about the mic, I used to use the microphone jacks, but then I found out my mic jack was faulty, so now I bought a USB headset which has worked great... i hope this error doesn't have to do with the microphone jack, or else I need to get that fixed

Your second one looks like a sound card issue.

Are these errors reliably predictable?

If you have a combo MB, disable the sound card in the BIOS and try playing a few games soundless to see if the problem persists. If your sound card is a riser card, try updating the drivers.

MS put out a patch here awhile back that voided their in house driver for my sound card (SBGoLivePlatinum) and I had to update with a fix from Sound Blaster to stop game crashes such as this and some PC conflicts.

Dunno if this will fix the prob, but it is a process of elimination.

it's kind of odd, I cleared my cache and haven't had the error within the past day, and immediately after I had crashed I went back on to DC and it worked fine... I even finished that map without another error. My sound couldn't find any new drivers, I believe that the company I just bought my comp from updated every driver... but if it is faulty would this be why my microphone jack doesn't work? If that could create that problem then it's quite a possibility. But as of last night I haven't received the run time error, or the latest one, it's kind of strange.

ah, now that makes a little more sense... I have a bunch that I DL'd about a week ago to see if I could find a good voice pack. I just deleted most of them, except the ones that DC players use... hopefully that'll fix it!
