I'm having some major issues since the server went down.

I am getting CTDs and having problems with weapons.

After playing for a few minutes, my weapons go haywire. Some weapons will not fire. The weapon will make the firing noise, but no projectiles come out. Other times, the weapon will fire, but continues to fire even after I let off the fire button. The projectiles for that weapon will continue to be visible even if I switch weapons.

Then every so often I CTD and get an critical error message from UT.

Here's the last one I got:

UT2004 Build UT2004_Build_[2005-11-23_16.22]

OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
CPU: AuthenticAMD PentiumPro-class processor @ 1401 MHz with 511MB RAM
Video: NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 200 (5303)

Assertion failed: VoiceInfo [File:.\UnChan.cpp] [Line: 1829]

History: UVoiceChannel::ReceivedBunch <- UChannel::ReceivedSequencedBunch <- Direct <- UChannel::ReceivedRawBunch <- DispatchDataToChannel <- BunchData <- UNetConnection::ReceivedPacket <- UNetConnection::ReceivedRawPacket <- UTcpNetDriver::TickDispatch <- UpdatePreNet <- ULevel::Tick <- (NetMode=3) <- TickLevel <- UGameEngine::Tick <- Level iFullTower <- UpdateWorld <- MainLoop <- FMallocWindows::Free <- FMallocWindows::Realloc <- 10910191 0 FArray <- FArray::Realloc <- 0*2 <- FMallocWindows::Free

Until the server went down, everything ran smooth as silk.

Any help would be appreciated.

It looks like it was related to voice chat.

Try disabling voice chat through your settings or by joining a game (if you can do so without the crash happening immediately) and then leaving the voice chat channels.

Have you tried to see if you can play single player, or on any other server?

There haven't been any server side package changes in months. All we lost was the RPG & user data. It looks to me like the error you're seeing is client side.

First I'd make sure I was running UT2004 patch 3369. I might even just re-run the patch for sanity.

If that fails, I'd try updating your video, audio, & chipset drivers to the latest versions.

Next I'd burn this ( http://www.memtest.org/ ) to an iso and use it to boot the computer to see if you have a bad stick of ram. Ram can go bad over time.

If that fails you may want to try reinstalling UT2004.

If that still fails, I'd update the MB bios to the latest version.

Good luck!

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

Updated all my drivers and did a full reinstall.

Everything seems to be working fine now. Must have had a corrupted file somewhere.

Back in the game.
