Found some problems..  XML

Problem 1. When someone joins a game there guns and trans are no where to be found.

Problem 2.When you have a infinity link or flak and your shooting it non stop on a map like gael-XL after a few waves your projectiles dissapper you switch to another weapon you still can't see anything...

Problem 3.When i hit my booster b/c i can't find a medic around.I find one and once he fills me up my addren just sits there and drains what a big waste if you ask me...

Problem 4.I haven't seen this one but someone had it happen to them yesterday.Someone spawned and didn't have a mini or a trans (first time i ever hurd this one)But just like problem 1 we have to leave the game and come back...

It was me who lost my mini, I couldn't pick one up either. I reconnected and the problem was solved. My other guns worked fine though. Pretty strange, I think there have been some connectivity issues of late.

Yesterday the server did not send any update at all.

We could still kill and shoot. but mobs, players, guns, and ammo were not updated on the clients.

These problems usually happen as a result of problems getting all the information sent from the server to the client. It could be lag on the players part, lag on the servers side, or simply that there is so much happening that the client rate isn't high enough to transmit all the data needed to display where everything is.

This is most commonly seen in Problem 2. Problems 1 and 4 are due to having trouble with the information being sent at the exact moment of spawning or the Magic Weapon Maker giving you a new gun. I've used the MWM before and right when it should pop a new weapon it just disappears and I never get it back.

This is the fault of the coders at Epic. They didnt allow for the possibility that anyone could ever have more than (Starting Health + 99). I think of it as shortsightedness on their part. It will never be fixed unless someone codes up a new version of the Booster combo.

Yup, I think it is a lag issue also. I have noticed that when it happens to me, there are usually 22 or 23 people in the server and/or there is significant bottle necking with internet traffic control.

I don't think it should be blamed on the DC server though. This bottle neck can occur anywhere between the provider and the client.

My provider, when they have issues, will redirect traffic through Atlanta, GA adding twice as many (and sometimes three times as many) hops to final destination. I definately see this happen when my hop count is up there.

There were indications yesterday of the hoster's network having issues.

The site is "dual-homed", which means they have two lines coming in from different ISPs. However, one of them was apparently buggy yesterday evening.

When I have lag issues and run the traceroute, usually it turns out to be one of the 4 stops it makes in SLC or one of the hops it makes up to Vancouver. Lately I have been seeing 150-300 pings from the SLC servers. Honestly though, the last few weeks backbones have been in badshape everywhere.

I don't know if the problem was between the csolutions site and myself, or at the csolutions end itself, but I know my monitors yesterday were indicating a something was wrong. Here are some images I captured:





These same monitors saw nothing unusual about my hops up through my ISP (Covad) clear to their border router which I go through, and sites like Ohio State, NAAPO (the radio observatory I mention from time to time), MIT, CMU, netbsd.org, etc. and even my employer all were fine as well. This pretty much leaves something either at csolutions or with their ISP/NSP, especially given that traceroute shows little difference between my path to several of the other sites and DC until the branch off into csolutions and their provider.

I also know that during the same period we have been discussing, UT2K4 was reporting my ping as running somewhere between 120 and 200, which is way high for me. And during this, I got a mega-kill with a luck+4 flak during CTF-FC-Tutorial, and the F3 stats did not record it. That makes me wonder...serverside or just communications between me and the server.

BTW... I would share the URL to the monitor, but unfortunately, the P90 which runs it also acts as my mail and web bastion host, and the image generation kinda clobbers it when you grab new versions of the images (it takes about 20 seconds to render a page). But if you want to see more about the tools I use, take a look here. My main complaint is that too many of Tobi's tools are written in script languages like Perl instead of being written in more efficient C.

If at the moment your 6 seconds without killing ends while you are in Ghost or using a redeemer. You loose your Multi kill award.

I loose tons of them while ghosting.

The same thing that happened to E, happened to myself on Stalwart... not sure what caused it, but it was definately weird

Definitely no ghost/deemer. I survived that entire wave. Maybe the lag, maybe something new....

simple solution to that.....if you use your booster don't find a medic till after your adren stops...

No kidding. Actually, I did make a Booster Plus once, mainly because I don't like the choppy style of UT regeneration. Booster smacks your health with 5 once per second. Booster Plus smacks your health with 1 five times per second. Much smoother. I like.

What's the whole thing about Max Health+99 or whatsit? If you're talking about SuperHealthMax, that can be changed. So I think you're referring to the Booster code going up to MaxHealth+99, and not SuperHealthMax, right?

Yes, do that. This isn't a bug/problem, it's just an inconvenience. I like the +99 health cap; we don't need that much health anyway.
