Just curious, but what do you need the servers IP for?

You can just right click and add ip and it will appear on the favorites.

If you dont want to give the IP out thats understandable, ill just tell him to try and enter through the website and see if that works

DC should automatically add itself to your favorites list when you join. Not sure why it's not doing that.

Of course you could always find it in the Invasion list in the server browser and click on it once, then some info about it will appear in the lower left pane.

One of the things it lists is the IP address and port the server use.

I can't believe people dont know how to use the server browser in this day and age.

It's just odd you know. As smart as kids are on computers these days I still roll my eyes when someone asks where to email the admin of a server when almost always it is listed on the server browser.

Maybe the problem is that we live in a 'strategy guide, beat-this-level-for-me-so-I-dont-have-to' society. Kids are doing things younger but they are buying guides instead of exploring their way through a game anymore.

Hehe this remember me a little story.

I was at work developping a new application in Struts. A Java Framework.

A J2EE Architect was the team lead and was supposed to support us in this new technology.

Since we were in a hurry (Like all projects), i go to him and ask to give a little crash course to help start.

He promptly answer me, go read www.struts.org.

So i lost around 1 week. And i also gave that crash course to all the member in the team when i was done. I really like to transfer my knowledge to others.

So now came the time to upgrade our Web Servers to a Clustered environment in WebSphere. So i document myself on the RedBooks out there and Certify myself as a WAS Admin at the same time.

After 1 month, this Architect comes back and ask me to give him a crash course on WebSphere because he was in a hurry to develop a proof of concept.

I promptly answer, go read www.websphere.org.

Morale of story:
You never know when you gonna need help when you are in a hurry. Be generous, always. But like Morpheus said in the Matrix:
-Theres a difference between showing the path and make the path discovered (sp?).

Dont tell him the e-mail directly, show him how to use Server Browser

Yup, I agree v0rTeX. It all started when they put cheat codes in games. Though they may be a necessity for the coder and play testing genres, I think it was sad that they made it to those pamphlets you mentioned.

On top of that, when the "godmode" cheat is used, and the kiddos beat the game, they could adopt the idea that they are the 'shiznat' when in reality, they still play like..................well you know.

The guides and walkthroughs are spoilers and they really do take away from the overall experience.

OOOOOhhhh man do I agree, I gotta get my son to read this. We battle over this all the time. Play the game to play, get through it yourself. Later you can use the cheats to explore with impunity and have some more fun. But NNOOOO he hits the web sights, gets the cheats and beats the darn game in like 2 hrs , then comes out wondering why he's bored. Sheesh. Back in the day, you had to work for cheats, codes, secrets, etc... I mean, in the orig mario, who would have thought to jump up above the ceiling to run over and get to bypass a few levels? The folks, like us, that played untill our fingers bleed and our eyes are falling out of their sockets because it's 3 am on a school night, but we were EXPLORING! I've played, in my long ago youth, 4 bit games longer and had more fun then my son has playing the latest , hyper intensive, story line games of today.

I wait till i beat it. Takes awhile.. My brother an I beat Halo 2 within 2 days after getting it and having little sleep. Then we found all the glitches and explored the maps.

I cheat on alot of games an im sad to say that Socom 1 I had alot of joker codes from GameShark on(can activate at anytime) but i didn't abuse it I only used it when a cheater started,
Then they all ran from me They didnt have all the cheats i did MAWHAHAHAH
