Well, that was an interesting 36 hours! It was 50 deg and sunny, calm, with a few pillow clouds in the sky. I was standing out side at work trying to decide if the weather guys were wrong or just messing with us when, BAMMM, this wall of wind and hail hits us out of no where. the hail was the size of nickles and they were hitting us sideways. Tore the flashing and some of the metel siding off of several of the out buildings at the school where I work, hail dent a bunch of cars and shaddered a couple of the windows in the old setion of the building. Wife calls, the phone line was ripped off the side of our house and was flailing around in the wind like a derange snake. Power then goes out, wind gusts 20-70 mph in my area. (Stratton mountian, accross the border to vemont, 147 mph gusts, 80-90 mph sustained wind.) Temp starts to drop drastically, hits bottom at around 20 with wind chill in the neg 20's. We get all the kids home, now it's a waiting game. I had no generator or kero heater so my house plummeted (leveled out around 45 though, thank the stars, nothing frozen) Get hold of NIMO and they say no power untill monday or tuesday prob.! So, I get a generator, because the temp was supposed to get to around 3 tonight. Hook up my boiler, and a light or two in the house , and hope. Wahoo!!!! power comes back at around 4 pm. Well, thats my story for the last 30 hours or so. (not to mention getting my wife's elderly O2 dependent grandmother and Quad Uncle to my parents in laws so they have heat and her O2 machine can run on their gen, running 30 miles south to pick up 50 gallons of gas in 5 gallon cans in the back of my van, keeping 5 cats warm and reassured, keeping what little heat I can in the school, AND making sure all of our friends are warm and fed.)
I hope anyone here that lives up this way is ok!
So, all this makes me a little tired so I won't be seeing you guys tonight, perhapse tomarrow. I'm going to cook my self some dinner now (first food in 24 hrs), see you later.

Well it was pretty gusty here too, but not as bad as where you are... we've have terrible winds since thursday night and are still going now, just at a lighter level. Our whole county closed schools and many businesses on friday, lots of power outages as well. I'm glad to hear you're all right, nothing too drastic happened to us just windy and absolutely freezing here... we have a -10 degree temperature warning right now with some winds. I know it got pretty bad in some places so I'm glad you're ok!

Wow, that's nuts! Glad you're ok though! Drink lots of hot chocolate and stay toasty.

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO what a ride!"
