Alice: What a funny watch! It tells the day of the month, and it doesn't tell what o'clock it is!
The Hatter: Why should it? Does your watch tell you what year it is?
Alice: Of course not, but that's because it stays the same year for such a long time together.
The Hatter: …which is just the case with mine.

if you look back, you can do the same thing for engineer artifacts. its just more awkward since you have to use previousitem or whatever the command it to find it. note that I made that before the newer engineer artifacts so mine are all out of order now. I need to change the number of previous's

or use the text pad, something like this

b=exec blast.txt

the u make a .txt (note pad)
containing something like this
SelectShieldBlast | SelectHealingBlast| ActivateItem

save it.

then when u press "b"

it will try to select shield blast, if you are an engi it will do, but since u arent medic it cant select heal blast, therefore leaving you with shieldblast and activating it

if you are medic i cant select shield blast since you dont have it, but it will select healblast, and activate it

place that .txt in the UT/system folder. then bind a key to exec blast.txt. it will find the file blast.txt since it is in the same folder as the user.ini

what is the code for making monsters attack and stay. Just general monster commands. I understand u must open User.ini with notepad and you get all the commands but what code do i type to bind the monster command with the key?

Is there a way to find out what the proper variable name is for each mouse button? For instance, I just got a new mouse that has two buttons (back and forward) in addition to left and right click, but this is what the mouse section of my user.ini file looks like:

LeftMouse=Fire
MiddleMouse=MoveForward
RightMouse=AltFire
MouseWheelDown=NextWeapon
MouseWheelUp=PrevWeapon
MouseX=Count bXAxis | Axis aMouseX Speed=2.0
MouseY=Count bYAxis | Axis aMouseY Speed=2.0
MouseZ=

I assigned the foward button to activate artifact through the settings menu, and it was labeled "Right" (which is odd because the user.ini file says "Right=StrafeRight".) The other button is identified as left. If I want to assign a command through the user.ini file, would I add "Right=" or "Left=" underneath MouseZ in order for it to be recognized? Or is there any way to find out the actual names of these buttons as recognized by the program?

Thanks.

easiest way is this: bind each mouse button to say what it is. example: "Mouse1 = "say Mouse1" enter a game and hit each button in turn. that will tell you which is which

at a different spot it has lines that say mouse button1,2 and so forth I used them to key bind some things.
this is part of my ini file with the buttons

UnknownE3=
UnknownE2=
UnknownE1=
UnknownE0=
UnknownDF=
UnknownDA=
UnknownD9=
UnknownD8=
UnknownC7=
UnknownC6=
Mouse8=
Mouse7=
Mouse6=
Mouse5=selecthealingblast | onrelease activateitem
Mouse4=SelectRod | OnRelease ActivateItem
Unicode=
UnknownB8=
UnknownB7=
UnknownB6=
UnknownB5=
UnknownB4=
UnknownB3=

I added lines in front and back of the lines I use to help you find them in yours Altho I need to do the script thing to use the same button for shield blast

Strange... that section isn't in my user.ini. I'll figure it out later; I ended up binding through the in-game console to that other mouse button so that's taken care of. Speaking of which, does anyone's user.ini file get updated with keybindings made from the console? Because mine hasn't changed at all after making assignments in-game.
