A player (can't remember who) on DC today pointed out how you can mute those annoying auto taunt ("I'm on your team!) messages.

I hear quite a few regulars flaming the noobies to turn them off so I guess this option isn't widely know...so...

Under your Audio tab in Settings find the "Play Voices" drop down box and select "no auto-taunts" and hey presto...no annoying messages anymore!

Thought it was worthy of a post

Ok, time to eat my words...yummy

Adjusted my settings as per the above and it doesn't seems to work. Still getting... previous said messages. Anyone have any different experiences/ideas?

If you turn off "Play Voices" then you won't hear any taunts. It's kind of weird telling people to turn their auto-taunts off, I just never say anything about it...

I'd like to edit the audio files instead. Instead of "same team, idiot", something like "LOL, you rule!"

I agree, not a big issue.

However I can appreciate some players, especially healers thinking it's a manners thing. I mean, it's gotta be a little monotonous hearing taunts all day long.

It is a nuiscance. Especially when a deemer goes off in the vicinity, or healing, or just stray fire.

Dealing with Tech Support issues all day, I have a short tolerance for people that do two things:

1. Fail to listen/pay attention.
2. Don't know how to use the software they use.

Someone failing to turn off auto taunts after being asked is either ignorant or rude.

Turning off Auto Taunts that other people yell at you is a per player basis.

You have to hit ESC and go to the communications tab. Then you can highlight a player name and choose to ignore their speech. But you will have to do this for every single person who hasn't turned off auto taunts on their client.

Yup, then if they do finally get the message, ya gotta go undo it. I figure its a player choice thing too. Not that I like it much, it is part of the game that can be easily modified, so.......

At least ya can tell who hasn't been around long.

If at first you don't friccasee, fry, fry a hen.
