During an early wave's usual banter about the new stuff, we had a couple of ideas pop up. I can even claim one of them as my own.

1. Give pets a different skin. I only overheard this and haven't really put much thought into how difficult it would be to implement. The complaint about pets is that the halo isn't sufficient to show the differences between pets and monsters. Mind you, I don't have that complaint myself (at least not as strongly as I've heard it voiced); that's just what I hear. It was an idea though; not sure who voiced it.

2. This one is mine: about the resurrection idea, we tossed around a couple of things but the first thing that came out was make it so the healer that does the resurrecting looses health (not just adrenaline). So a simple way to think about it would be to have them, if they were at 100 (later we discussed requiring them to be at full health or greater) and they brought someone back, the person would come back at 50 - but then the medic would be taken *down* to 50. Logic being that bringing someone back from the dead is a big thing and you shouldn't get away with just a simple adrenaline expendature - you gotta donate a little blood to the cause.

Mind you you might be way ahead of us in this idea thing and you can use or toss whatever you like.

I don't mind the pet halos so much anymore since the new radar, but the second suggestion sounds pretty interesting. The idea of resurrection from a medic would be cool and I'd agree with the health loss along with adrenaline, or else people would coming back a lot during harder waves. I'd have to wonder how that'd work with ghost though, if you were resurected would it enable an option to ghost again because that would make it even easier. I do think it's a good idea, but there'd be some issues that would have to be looked at.

If im reading this right i think that the person coming back should be a random player if your talking about coming back in the game...This would cut down on arguing like why didn't you bring me back instead of him i thought we where friends kind of thing....

Here to have fun.

I understand your concerns and empathize.

I think one of the things a healer could get away with saying (depending on how the resurrection is handled) is "I couldn't get there quick enough."

There's going to need to be tweaks regarding how long from death a player's body stays; it's pretty short now, but for good reason. You don't want them hanging around too much; computer wise, it's inefficient to have an extra non-interactive object that's not part of the map just laying there (and we don't want to get into what it takes to have an extra interactive one either).

It all depends on how Dru is going to implement it. Without further details, we can only throw ideas out there.

If it's not based on a Medic getting to a specific body, then yes - I agree it should probably be random. Besides, having to select the player might take too long and give the monsters plenty of time to find said medic while he's trapped in a menu somewhere and toast them.

How about not implementing Resurect, but just reset the Ghost?

Or put an Extra Ghost Counter that trigger only if you already ghosted?

On the resurrection idea, when someone dies, they could go into a suspended limbo, on a 20 sec count down. A message gets sent out saying 'Fred is in limbo'. Other people dying get added to the 'limbo list'. At the end of the countdown, the person dies.
When the wave ends, all players still in limbo die, to be respawned at the start of the next wave.

If a medic has the required ability and adrenaline, he can do a resurrection, which recovers the top person in the list, and respawns them at a random location (thus we don't have to keep the dead body lying around, and it gets round people who fell in lava etc).

Don't provide a way to see the list, so you never know who is at the top.

Doesn't apply to people who kill themselves - they just die.

Thinking about it now, there are going to be a few cases where a person dies and it's reported as a suicide, but it's not. I've supposedly killed myself with a few rocks (and only in a couple of cases did I simply fail to dodge the other way).

But we might be able to live with those ...

Yep, same for me, and i think i now know why people can survive multiple insta kill rocks.

I guess they are people with Cautiousness 5. This means they get 75% less damage on those "Self Kill" rocks.

I already saw someone receive 4 rocks in a row and he still had 75 hp.

Except that sometimes people minimize the window when they die, or go get a snack or something... It's not that big of a problem but nevertheless

I'm with both of you as well. It would cause arguments.

I'm also not a big fan of powerleveling, which the medic class basically introduces to the game, but that's another rant. A res feature would make it worse.

The res feature is already implemented in the form of Ghost, and anyone, regardless of their class, can work towards it.

Maybe ghost could be exclusive to just one class.

If I can do it, it's going to occur from shooting a corpse before it dissapears, so it wont be so random.

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.
