The Fro DC-Pack *UPDATED*

Well as Fro, I really shouldnt try to upload it unless it's needed. My work is really sloppy and not done. I did a halt tail job at working on it. So I'm going to pass.

After installing the 2nd pack the little Eris skin made about 10 "?" entries in the character selection screen. Any idea how to get rid of that?

Fro, I had a question, you seem to know a little about skins.. I have the skins installed in the correct files, however there are still many skins I can't see. Do you know how I can fix this? I have also tried re-installing many of them and it still won't work.. Any suggestions?

I have been using these same two skins for a few months now, so Fro, if you happen to have any problems with these, let me know. Also let me know if anyone else is using these skins, so I might change them.

Deunan, one thing you could try is looking in the readme for the skin and see if there is anything else that needs to be done for the skin to work properly.

Have you tried using the skin offline to see if you can see it. I know one of the skins in my pack doesn't seem to work online(ut2mdl-nurse), but it works online. I'm trying to figure that one out. (maybe somebody knows how to fix that

)

Another thing you could do is see if there's a newer version of that skin.

I can't think of any other reason right now that they shouldn't be working. If you installed all the files in the right place it should be working.

Do you have a skin in particular that isn't working. Maybe I can take a look and figure out what needs to be done to make it work.

Vesta_ut24k (untamed's skin) the Bledosian skin,
Boid_ut24k those are just a few that i can remember.. i've had them installed for months, and recently removed and re-installed them just in case they were in the incorrect folders, but it hasn't worked yet.

anyone else had this problem? I know on filefront there is the first version I released that had incorrect lod settings (actually no lod settings) so I released another one with that corrected (plus cleaned up a few things)

another thing it could be is both these skins have effects on them so you need a video card that has direct x8 support out of the box to see some of the effects I think it would still show up though since I used a fallback texture.

I believe untamed isn't using vesta_ut2k4 anymore. Don't recall why, but it could have been because she was having problems with it. It works just fine on my machine. Boid_ut2k4 works fine on mine as well.

See if upgrading your video card drivers fixes anything.

i got it working and untameds' vesta_ut24k did work.. embarassing as it is, I was putting the in our back up hard drive instead of my regular hard drive

so thanks guys for all your help..

I'm having a problem with this skin pack. I had to delete and reinstall my game at least 3 times. Each time I updated the game to 3369. Everytime after I installed the skin pack and tried to go onto the DC server, I would get a General Protection Fault.

Insane, always back up your folder first!

Sorry to hear you're having problems. What you could try is this:

First, COPY YOUR UT2004 FOLDER elsewhere as a backup.
Next, install the first skin pack. Or, install the first two. Connect and see if you get a GPF bluescreen.

Repeat until you narrow it down to the pack that's causing the problem. Always back up your files!

Then, post here and we can narrow it down further.

For the record, I installed all the skins in the current pack from a scratch install of UT2004 with no problems. So, we can figure this out from there!
