Triple-bummer: When you forget to shut off your triple and it eats all of your adren, and you only notice after you hit 5 health and need booster.

Putting them in the FAQ: Nahh ... this is more for fun than anything else really. If you've looked at my FAQ recently, you'll notice several questions have been ... well, not removed, but clustered at the end of their post with notes indicating that the Main FAQ now answers the question.

EDIT: I may sometime later update the first post on this thread to include all of the terms I like. Why just the ones I like? Well ... it's my post and my thread! I started it! Nyah!

"gas n go" - On the Tundra map, I have that doorway where I just sit with the medic mini toggled on (check the Keybinds sticky for the clues how to do that). Heck, most of the time I could get up and walk away for a few seconds; I only have to worry about touching the keyboard or mouse when a monster shows up and bumps me. I still get a giggle when I remember a weapons trade being negotiated over voice chat, and when the terms were settled, one of them said "Meet me at Bot" ... like I was a fixture or map feature.

Oh and of course I've forgotten to add:

medicize - the act of using the Medic Weapon Maker on a given weapon. IE: "Bot, you want a flak 5?" "No, I'm just going to medicize one." (pronounced with a soft "c", like "s" not "k").

I have a new term for the server... cap-off, meaning to use the max+1 artifact on it.

Example: Anyone want this Flak+5? Better hurry before I cap it off.

Variants: Put the cap on it.

On a related term, I have also been using terms more centric to myself like "Big Stick" and "Silver Hammer". These refer to the Flak+6 and Vorpal Shock+11, particularly but not necessarily when used with boosting artifacts. I have religated the term "precious" to indicate any vorpal of any value. But if you think about things for a bit, you may see why "Silver Hammer" and Vorpal Shock +11 go together, and maybe even the "Big Stick" reference, which comes from Teddy Roosevelt's quote. However, other folks may have different weapons for their "Big Stick".

Of course, here is another one for you I just thought of...a "triple terror". Someone who goes running around with a high damage weapon such as a damage/rage flak or RL, or a vorpal, boosted with the triple.

Griz had a decent suggestion for this Moof, but I think:

"Rock wreck" - the result of rounding a corner or passing through a doorway and finding that a rock had the right of way.

Not to say that Griz's work was totally useless, I think it should be:

"Astoneded" - the feeling that results from a rock wreck.

I actually didn't catch some of the earlier posts on page 1 ... so:

I really liked "transregret"; the changing of "froed" to "affroed"; "blockhead" (though I don't think we need to restrict calling someone a "blockhead" to when death is involved); "deemeralized" (I changed the spelling ) ...

I think we can use:

"deemercide" - Killing oneself with a deemer.

"deemerder" - Managing to kill other people with a deemer - kill 5 or more, and we can use "mass deemerder". While "wassamattayou" is kinda funny, I think "deemerder" has a better ring to it. Discuss.

"portacide" - Dying because you either went through a portal and stopped, or passed near a portal exit, and died when someone else went through the portal. We'll assume that it's more than just bad timing or lack of knowledge of the map, but closer to a failure to exercise due caution.

"portakill" - The act of going through a portal and killing someone (hopefully accidentally)

"meteor shower" - when a significant number of rocks (if you stopped to count them, you'd probably die) are headed in your direction at the same time.

Someone wanted a term specifically for Shield Nalis; as I can't think of one, I'll just say I'd rather not elevate them by giving them a special name. However, their preferred method of dealing with you is via "backshielding" you. So I guess if you really wanted a term for them, you could use "backshielders".

Okay that's enough for tonight.

EDIT: Just saw Spacey's post - so I guess we need to clear up some terminology:

"bangstick" - any vorpal weapon, save maybe the vorpal avril (it's not very stick like).

"precious" - I usually limit the term to referencing vorp 10s, maybe 9s. I also usually limit it to shocks, but I guess any high vorp weapon is precious.

"boomstick" - Not to be confused with "bangstick", a boomstick is a penetrating shock - which is mostly only good for sending out several shock balls and then comboing them, giving anyone with a subwoofer a treat, and anyone with headphones up too loud temporary hearing loss.

"pop" - Sometimes used to describe the successful vorpalling of a monster.

"vorpacide" - We all know how I love putting "cide" at the end of things to indicate killing yourself. Figure this one out yourself.

We can't forget the "lawnmower." Subie's favorite infinite minigun +4.

As for titan's I like the term "shock rock" for those surprise rocks.

I know that one all too well. It is when you bounce the LG or shock off a shield of something like a queen, it comes back and BANG! You are dead! ops:
It is also why I will tend to use the double magic on a vorpal sniper, but the triple on the LG or shock. Tripling a sniper gains you little, but making it a vorpal 22 gains you quite a bit. And on the flip side, you can pretty much kill anything short of a titan with a vorpal shock 11, (combo can be 450hp, then *2.1*3 makes for a potental damage of 2835hp, before damage bonus/redux). But a vorp 22 against a queen or some other monsters leads to vorpacide. So there!

As for a precious being just 9's or 10's, naaa... any vorpal is a precious, it just may need a bit of adren and time to grow up a bit. If you think about it, you will see why I do not limit it...even on the worst of maps, I can generally max a weapon in a wave, often less. Indeed, depending on a mix of things (map, other players, wave, etc.), I have been known to make, max and max+1 a weapon in a single wave. Of course, I also started with my adren maxed out from the previous wave.

Oh, and I like the others.

Now, here is a new one for ya... a mythbuster. Can anyone think of what it would be?? I will give you a hint... BotFodder already mentioned the weapon. Let's see who gets it first...

Whenever I think of a vorpal or rage wep going from 10 to 11, it reminds me of This is Spinal Tap when he explains how his speakers go to 11.

Marty: Does that mean it's...louder? Is it any louder?
Nigel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see,
most...most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten
here...all the way up...all the way up....
Marty: Yeah....
Nigel: ...all the way up. You're on ten on your guitar...where can you go
from there? Where?
Marty: I don't know....
Nigel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is if we need that extra...push over
the cliff...you know what we do?
Marty: Put it up to eleven.
Nigel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder.
Marty: Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top...
number...and make that a little louder?

Nigel: ...these go to eleven.

"Bored them to death"

This is when the last player on wave 16 is forced to run and not fight, and eventually everything starts dying off on its own.

I know the terminology just don't sound right, but wouldent it be a:

"POP GUN"?

Boom Stick, I.E. Vorpal Shock Rifle +10

And if you want to go there, the loudest weapon in the game is the penetrating shock...

Sounds more like a transgression to me. But then again, in INV, a trans-agression could be intentionally standing on their translocator...not good, and makes you wish you could telefrag them instead (Learn them not to stand on it! Hrmph!!). The definition for trans-agression in games such as DM, CTF and such would differ though, where it would be the act of destroying it so that they went splat when they used it.

Wondering if anyone has yet figured out what a "mythbuster" is...
