Okay, kids, this is the last update. Here are my final core skills. I'm level 90 now, and the rest will be up to you

Final plan: Regen does more than it looks like it does. More importance on that. Awareness, not so much. I do so much damage now that it's not as important.

That is a pretty solid set of skills moof, but I think it would be a lot more advantageous to get Vamp 5 before you get Regen 5. As an LW player you will get into the action a lot more and vamp 5 will help A LOT more than regen 5. You can get your health basically back to normal with a avril, flak ball combo at a titan and if you are really low on health you can spray the mini from afar or launch avril's at warlords or anything that you can lock onto. I think getting speed switcher is akin to getting advanced DB because you can start to incorporate combos into your game.

As you are aware moof, we are about the same level (you are of course ahead of me, but we are pretty close). Because I have not gotten into VAMP or REGEN alot, I will not speak about that. One skill I picked up last before I went on my quest for Ghost 1, was awareness. I was suprised how it bumped up my score. Here are some of the highlights.

1). If you have more then 1 same monster, you know which one to take down first. This means you quickly get rid of the easy one (red bar) and then deal with the full health monsters. Less monsters means less chance of getting killed.

2). So your toe to toe with a titan and your debating on using the trans to get back to your safe spot. You know you have 1-2 seconds before your dead. With awareness, you can gamble better. If the monster is still green bar, then you teleport back. If they are red, then you stay and kill them.

3). It is easier to find enemy to kill. This is because there are alot of times that I walk past the monsters (smaller of course). But with awarness, I see them alot better in the distances.

4). Because you can see them clearer in the distance, you can determine better to use that deemer. Example: I look in the distance and see alot of mid to low monsters attacking you. If I see mostly green bars, I fire off the deemer. If I see mostly red bars, I know that my deemer by the time it makes it there will not help much because you would of killed them by the time the deemer reaches you.

5). It is interesting to see how certain weapons will do damage on the monsters. I have been learning which weapons will do more damage on certain monsters.

Ok that is my top 5 about the awarness. Now to ME there is one down side that I noticed. Because of the placement of the bar, it is very hard for ME to see the halos around pets. I find myself using some ammo on a pet and then realize oowww thats right it is a pet, not a monster. Thats about the only downside I have seen on awarness, but as you can tell I have found it to be useful.

Eitherway you go Moof, I know you will kick butt in the game like you usally do. Can you hold up on leveling so I could actually pass you? Just joking, go kill and have fun!

I agree with Mach. Regen is fine for quiet times and between waves, but when you need to get your health up quick, especially during the heat of battle, the vamp skill is far more quicker and valuable.

Also, the same with ghost. Yes, I know it's expensive to get to level 3 but you will find that your scores will increase about 100 to 200 points per game just being able to get out of tight spots.

Awareness is ok, but I use the radar all of the time, and with my level I'm not sure that it will help me that much.

If you look at my stats, you will see that I've pretty much built up the skills evenly.

One other note, tho. Get your adren up so you do combos such as booster, berseker, speed, and other useful combos. Same for ammo and ammo resupply. Nothing kills you faster than being out of ammo at the wrong time.

Awareness is definitly a great skill to have, Rom's points were all bang on. Extremely helpful for getting spree kills or simply getting out of sticky situations.

Even if you aren't into combos, speed switcher helps get your trans out quicker, it's extremely noticeable from SS 2 to playing without it on my medic. I love transing around maps and comboing so I couldn't live without that skill.

I can't believe I forgot about ghost. Demon is bang on, your score will increase a lot with ghost not only because of that extra life, but you can afford to play more aggresively. I'd buy up to level 3 ASAP. I think I got it in the 70's to 80's. You could (and I personally think should) buy it earlier than that. Get yourself vamp 3 or 4, resupply 2, max health, wep speed, DR and DB then work on ghost imo.

The core skills imo are Ghost 3, LW 5, Resupply 2, Vamp 5, maxed DB, DR, health and wep speed.

Once you get that I think you can go any route you choose depending on what type of player you are.

Quickfoot is a great all-around skill, not only does it help to get out of sticky situations, but it helps you get to kills faster.

I've talked about speed switcher and awareness already.

Advanced DB is very nice as well and great bang for your buck.

Instead of resupply 3 I went ahead and maxed my ammo stat to 80. I'm not sure which is more useful, but it's a must imo. If you have a vorp shock you will need as much ammo as possible and on titan waves you can run out of flak ammo. Mini and Link also last much longer.

If you want more regen I think you are best off maxing it at one time. I had regen 1 since probably level 15 and it's pretty much useless on it's own. Regen 5 is definitly a nice skill, but you want to get up to regen 5 as quickly as possible otherwise it's wasted stat points imo.

I have ultima 1 as well, kind of a spur of the moment purchase, I don't regret it, but I'd definitly get the things I mentioned previously before this skill.

Gotta agree.........A good LW player will have these maxed out ASAP. I would also add maxed ammo. I got ghost maxed out while in the 40's. By the time I hit level 40, I had the health/db/dr/ammo (almost)/wep speed maxed out.

A note on a side effect of awareness I noticed... If a monster is hidden or obscured by a cloud of steam, giant blood globs, water, etc, you can still see them because their stat bar is still completely visible! This helps greatly when targetting even while trodding around in the 12+ seconds of Giant Gassbag Blood-globs.

Just a side note: If you turn the gore level down on your game settings there are no large blood gobs

Oh, but I LIKE the gore! That way I can see the giant globs of cherry Jello the Gasbags give ya! I mean, nothin's funnier than seeing a HUGE bunch of Jello FLYin' across a map to gather around the guy that won the prize by killin the Jello-Bag that was carryin it!
