we just played this map and it's almost a scramble to keep in bounds. Most of the floor and parts of the cabinets seem to change in and out of out of bounds... ie: I was sniping just below Fire Eclipse and I'd crouch there for a while then it would go into the countdown, but then would stop a few seconds... I know I was not the only person experiencing these out of bounds messages in central places (couch, floor, tables), so my question is if something can be done, but I don't know if that's even possible
This map reminds me of the Shok maps that many disliked, just with less detail... I do like the map as I did the shok ones so I just wanted to bring the issue up

Anybody, feel free to chime in and correct me on this but it sounds like where you were is out of bounds all the time. The reason that the countdown kept starting and stopping is because you were in the direct line of sight of a monster, that was killed, then another monster focused on you and it was killed, etc, etc.

The way I understand it, the anti-camper mod is set up so that if you are too far away from a "playing" area, you'll get the countdown unless a monster has its eyes focused on you. If you can see monsters, it doesn't matter, they have to be looking (shooting) at you when in an area that is 'out of bounds'.

Oh, I like that map too.

Chyster is correct. As soon as you were in line of site of a monster, the out of bounds suspends for a bit.

Anyone else feel strongly on this map?

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

Getting out of bounds every few seconds is kinda annoying, but then again it's an occupational hazard that adds flavor to the map. I find trying to avoid superweapon blasts in SpaceNoxx, jumping away from the water in BR-Cutlass, trying to use the healpod in TDB-HealPod, getting knocked into the acid pools in Gael-XL, and just surviving CTF-Megawoot2k4/ QuantamFluxFinal/ EternalCavesClassic is another one of those challenges you have to deal with when playing. Then there's the mystery hole of doom in CTF-CBP2-Botanic I have yet to find....

Seems the problem occurs most during wave changes, where there are no monsters to keep in line-of-sight with. Bit of a conundrum sometimes -- though it can be overcome.

I absolutely love the map, and wish we had more (like Hall of Giants) on the server, but as I pointed out in another post I did today (and now cannot find ) the map runs afoul of the anti-camper mod in a really BIG way! Chy, I was in that map with Pyr, and THE WHOLE MAP was OOB at times just because the bugs were clear across the map on the other side of some piece of furniture. I got nailed several times this way, and as much as it was against my grain, I voted in one of the early waves for a different map.

I just hope we can get the AC mod turned off for maps like this.

There's larger problems with this one... It needs to be rebuilt for 2k4.

It may be as simple as loading it up in the map editor and hitting rebuild all.

I'll put it on my list of things to do; although while Shantara is in school that list gets longer, not shorter.
