plunge has a deemer? wow I never knew that. I'll have to get in single player mode to check it out.

Or maybe i shouldn't since i accidently kill people w/em lol.

Thanks for the info. The double damage thing makes sense.

Thanks for the info and fast replies. I was reading this whole thread today and came to some conclusions. The following is just my two cents:

1) If there is a power up there take it! 5 seconds on the double damage is not going to be the difference between level 6 vamp and dieing on wave 1!! If it is not their move along, it just wasn?t your time. If you are waiting to collect the double damage at the start of a wave you are just as bad as a person camping the deemer in my book. Camping a power up is camping a power up.

2) If you take someone?s artifact give it back right then and there. If you die o' well, you died doing the right thing. If you take it and did not know and someone complains your first priority should be to give it back and if you die in the process... o' well X2. There will always be a person or two who will just steal stuff and not care... report them and the mods will take care of it with there army of colon polyp seeking shield gun nali.

3) No monster is yours to kill unless you raised it from a pup. All monsters are fair game. There is no such thing as "stealing a kill" because that kill was not preordained to be yours. As for me, I shoot whatever moves, monsters, players, sometimes power ups and parts of the map! I?ll shoot stuff that?s not moving to see if it will!

4) Remember, this is just a game. If you find yourself upset because "your" power up was taken or "your" monster was killed you need to step away from the computer and either read a thin book or bite into a thick book. Either way you will calm down and not pester others.

5) All of this is just my opinion; it matters for nothing.

Now, while I have your attention, my health is at a maximum of 350 now and I like to keep it close to that. Because I tend to go right up to queens and nalis my health usually goes from 350 to around 50 quickly. So. if you see me getting the health viles or keg-of-health when my health is already 200+, it's not because I'm being a pig, it's only because I have to.

On the other hand, there are times I prefer to just hide and chuck spider mines. At those times when I'm the last one alive I'd appreciate it if I didn't hear people (the dead) say "get out there and fight" or "it's all over, he's a dead man" or "Just die already and get on to a new map".

You mean I really am important? How I feel when I'm drunk is correct?

This post isn't targeted at anyone in particular, but I want to add my 2c.
If you're in a hidy hole where the monster can't harm you, and you're the last player the admins *will* encourage you to "get out there and fight" for two reasons:

1) You're very close to cheating if you're in a spot the monsters cant go and cant damage you.
2) You're not being very considerate to the other players.

Now if you're out there, running and fighting. You're fair game for the monsters, and hence not cheating.

What I'm driving at here is to just be mindful of the other players if you're the last one alive.

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

I totally agree with what you wrote and I realize it was aimed at everyone on these forums. But I'd like to defend myself so no one thinks I'm into cheating. I am VERY aware that hiding where monsters can't get me is wrong and for the most part we players are kept honest by the other players. So far I haven't found a place to hide that I don't usually get damage. The particular map where this happened was IDOMA (sp) and I was a around a corner where the monsters didn't bother to go around.

The people prodding me on were players I hadn't seen before. The one I usually played with gave me good comments.

Klok the only things you cant camp are the superweapons. It happens all the time turning a corner and grabbing something someone was waiting for thats no biggy, but if you see them before you grab it it would definately be cool of you to just pass it by. And good advice on this just being a game, sometimes when you sit down and invest hours into a game you can forget very easily that it is just a game and frustration can get the best of you. That being said, just a game or not DC will not tolerate players who are rude, disrespectful, or generally lacking the courtesy required to follow the rules that have been laid out. The relatively strict enforcement of the rules on this server has resulted in a community of regulars who are fun to play with, and friendly. Hope you enjoy it here as much as the rest of us, Dru and Shan have done a lot of work with code and people and rules to make this a great place to game.

I did not know camping ammo and power ups was allowed. I thought no camping in any form was tolerated. See, Before DC I played a strict camping/sniping server (>>SZO<< for months so camping is in my blood. I don?t want to get in trouble for it. I love DC and really don?t want to be banned for being "that guy". That guy that camps, that guy that is greedy and so on. I?m still getting a feel for the rules and am more than willing to post my questions and arguments here. I'm not rude in any way (that I know of) and seem to have a basic feel for the "courtesy rules". I just needed some little things to be cleared up.
Thanks.

P.s. looking to see if someone is waiting for a power up seems hard. They look like there just standing there. For all I know there taking a drink or petting the dog or in there bathroom. Perhaps if people crouch right next to or in front of what there waiting for it would be more obvious? Just an idea.

You are right about not being sure if someone is waiting for it, if its ammo I would just grab it anyways, but shields and double damage I would pass by if I saw someone there. Also with ammo, some of us have Resupply at pretty high levels, if you see some regulars around and need ammo ask them if they can fill up your gun for you(if you are having trouble finding ammo for it that is). I know I can fill a flak cannon in about thirty seconds, if not less.

Hello Klok

I was there when you picked up the double Damage. There was a player standing next to it waiting for the countdown to finish that you did not see. You mentioned on this forum that you jumped from a jump pad and did not see the player waiting. The player did ask you to look at the rules. I also get frustrated when I have waited and someone runs over it. If you read back in this post I asked the same questions about waiting for DD, as I had no idea if it was camping.

Many times I have run over items like guns, artifacts that are not mine by error. I find it hard to kill monsters and watch that you do not step on an item at the same time. You come around a corner or hop off a roof and you do not see them. I now ask players if the gun was for someone other than myself. But sometimes I am just not thinking and do stupid things like run around with a misfortune weapon like i did tonight. Most of the time I do not pick artifacts up unless I know for sure I killed the monster.

Like you I run around the map and load up on ammo and health as I die fast as I like to be in the middle of the battle. I have a higher level but I am not a strong player so I need the health. I try to be wary of other players needing health and use my adrenaline but if the health is sitting there going to waste I will pick it up to make myself stronger.

The long time players are always happy to supply you with a gun or artifact. I had know idea that they could give us ammo. This is a team game and we support each other that is why I like playing on this server.

If I do something wrong please tell me as my thinking cap is not always on.

let me make this clear.,

First come first serve, you shouldnt be waiting for them anyway..between the artifacts that drop and the people who share .thiers no reason to be hostile towards someone who grabed something before you did. your fault for waiting for it,.. keep in mind that not only the newbies but the regs need to brush up on manners. its not the end of the world if someone takes a super sheild or double damage, shrug it off, thier more and its not worth getting mad over nor makeing someone feel bad..

as a player im asking everyone to relize no ones perfect.accidents will happen, and when they do.keep a calm collective attitude.blowing up on people wont help anything.
