I think that anything marked "sticky" or "announcement" is being fed as "new" through the RSS. I set my reader to display the 5 newest items from each feed, but they are taken up by the aforementioned posts. Any ideas?

And yes, I need to limit the number of items per feed because I am reading from multiple sites (i.e. Ars Technica, FEMA, etc...) and otherwise it becomes unmanageable. I realize that if there is no other option, I will just remove DC's feeds, but I thought it was neat to have them show on my personal view of our portal at work

I can read the feed with our reader, it just picks the "sticky" announcements as the latest posts

you might grab the RSS on recent topics. That covers all the forums, and in addition doesn't have any sticky(s)

The fundamental problem is this: The first word we learn as children is NO. From that point forward society teaches women that saying no isn't polite, and society teaches men to respect those who wont take no for an answer.

Duh ops: thanks

...of course, that forces other threads/areas that I may not want to watch. Thanks though

Thanks Dru - no biggie though, I was just messing with the feeds. Other feeds work just fine (obviously news feeds don't have sticky posts) such as Ars Technica's.
