Idling and Reserved Slots

We often run into confusion about what idling means, as well as why reserved slot members can idle.

Essentially, if you're somewhere monsters can't harm you, you're idling. If it's just for a few seconds to heal or chat, that's ok. Also leaving your computer for very long without any stated reason is idling. If an admin sees you do it for a length of time, you're likely to get kicked or banned.

Why? You're not paying for the bandwidth necessary to maintain your connection. We pay a healthy fee every month, not to mention the $$$$ it cost to build this server. As such, this is a gaming server, so you're either here to game, or you should free up your slot to other people who want to play.

So why can Reserved Slot players idle (for longer periods of time)?

Reserved slot players are essentially donating enough money to cover their portion of the bandwidth, and some of the server hardware, for the month(s) they donate for.

Nah, that'd be ok. It's the folks that get in and just 'stand' there for several waves.

I wouldn't worry about it. Dru's mod has an anti-idle thinga-ma-bob that will zap ya if you don't move. I've been nailed while in sniper mode in Face Classic.......kill the titan.....kill the titan......POOF

             "You've been kicked for idleing"

HUH?????
What the?????
