Guild Wars forum?

Is there sufficient interest from players around here that a guildwars forum would get any traffic? If so I'd be happy to create one for those of you who play ;)

Haven't played the game in many months. I played Planetside for a couple of years but the community went bad. Bought a few different games including UT since the "first FPSRPGMMO" is built off of the UT3 engine (Huxley) and have been stuck here since. (community) Seeing players from here playing GW has caused a revisit. GW will probably shift back to a game I play when DC is full, looking for the DC community. Stuck isn't the right word. I love you guys. I hate my addiction.

Once you add a name, all names from that account are in your friends list. You can't have a "secret" character to help squelch griefing.

sure did, played till 5 o'clock in the morning, then went to work. :D thanx for teaming up, I'd rather share the XP with friends than bots went from low level eight to half way through level ten after you gave Ann her shot at the 'puter. couldn't get away from the floating exclamation points, they were everywhere. i could almost swear my boss had one over his head about 10 oclock this morning. 8)

I log on a few times a week, mostly as Salash Muer. N/E 20. I think I've almost finished, it's just that the missions are getting a little harder. I'd be glad to help out some people a little :)

A GW forum? Sa-weet! :D I've been playing more GW that UT04 lately because it's less likely to trigger my nausea (better known as morning sickness, though it doesn't only strike in the morning :cry: ). My main character is a lvl17 monk/elementalist named Wren Laa Roue if any of you want to look me up in game :) Edit: You mean that Dirty? I just disbanded my old guild, which, admitedly, had only myself, my husband, my brother and one random person from when a friend of ours had been a member. I've got the funds to start up a new guild and I've been racking my brain to come up with a good name. I'd be willing to start a guild and transfer leadership if people like the idea of a DC guild. If I do though I have only one request: if my emblem design wins one of the twelve slots in the Guild Emblem Contest we have to use it for our cape :P I'll know by the 15th if it does win *crosses fingers, toes, eyes, etc.*

I was drifting off to sleep last night and I remembered: the person being invited has to be online when the invitation is sent in order to receive it. Just have to find a time whem we're both online at the same time :? Anyway, I added everyone here to my friends list :P My brother's main character is Ren Colbathin-he playes as Celor on the DC Server, and my husband's main is Sardo Solarion-he's Varkon on DC.

Said hello to Chai'i a couple of times and I think Dirty even said howdy, but I guess she has the music up loud or something, we got no response. Dirty told me about the Yahoo PC to PC phone call software and we have been using it. It is pretty cool to be able to talk in game instead of typing (spoiled by Unreal I am). Bad thing is that you can't toggle it on or off, so if my Missus comes in and starts in on me, oh well. Yall will have to endure with me :D If somebody else wants to do this software, we might be able to get a conference call goin' or something. It is free right now. Just get the Yahoo messenger, its built in.

LOL, I dunno 'bout that "seasoned folk" stuff. I've only had the game for a couple of weeks now. Dirty and I managed to get over to Kryta last night, wasn't too hard just that darn Prince Rurik is one hardheaded fighting machine. Almost got us killed with his thirst for blood. Electrician popped in and gave me a sweet Gold Smiting Rod that boosts smite damage by one and an awesome +2 smiting rune which I immediately applied to my Monks clothing. Thanks again 'lectrician, you saved me a ton of gold.

Right on! So, what're you're char's levels? (This is asking everyone in here). My E/Mo is 20+, then my N/Mo is 17, Then the W/Mo is 14, and the R/Mo is still in pre and he's 9 or 10. I was all geared up to get a char thru the first one before the expansion came out but then I got some side work that pretty well eliminated my free time. Oh, and PyRo and I got hooked on Lost so we had 2 seasons to catch up on :) Marathon TV is a killer... Anyhoo, seeya in the GW tonight possibly! cheers. t.

I got three characters right now. Worrior/Mesmer 9 Post searing Monk/Ranger 12 Post searing Worrior/Necromancer 10 Pre searing I kinda dig the monk, major damage with smiting prayers.

Atsalright Chai'i, I'm used to being ignored. :D :D (Joking) I have the opposite problem, somebody says 'Howdy' and I get smeared across the landscape by a level 22 Ice Imp trying to answer them. I think Dirty Deeds was wondering if you wanted to start a guild and use that fantastic cape I heard about. I am saving up cash for adding cool stuff to what ever guild. I almost got enough cash to add a storage agent (banker) now. Now as for the cape, it's not pink is it? I think pink would make my necromancer look like a sissy. :D

Wow i had no idea you guys play GW. Its been awhile since i've been here. I haven't played GW forever, but here are my characters. LvL 20 W/Mo LvL 20 R/Mo LvL 20 N/Me LvL 15 M/War Its been so long that I cant remember all the character names. I know one is Sleepless Playa. I would be happy to help anyone that needs it. Nah, it's not pink :lol: I was crossing my fingers that I'd get one of the winning slots in the Guild Emblem contest but at this point I'm doubting that I did since I haven't gotten an email and the winners are being announced tomorrow. Aw well. I still want to see what new emblems are being added anyway :D

Well, I'll show it to you anyway considering no one could steal my idea at this late date :P That's just the idea they would use to create the actual emblem of course. Some of the ones that won the last contest got quite....distorted, from the original.

HooRAY!!! Late last night, myself and a group of road weary adventurers succeeded on the Ring of Fire mission! We even pulled it off with a single monk and one of our group bailed on us 2 minutes in! That was odd.... The one after Ring of Fire, Abaddon's Mouth, was actually quite a bit easier than it's predecessor (sp?) so yeah, walked right through it, also crippled. 1 of our monks glitched and he got frozen inside a piece of geometry so he couldn't move anywhere, and out Necro bailed on us after our monk died the first time. :-P But yeah, now on the last one....should be interesting. Any word on the emblem? cheers. t.

What execreble luck you seem to have :lol: And no, they still haven't announced the winners of the contest yet :roll: I double checked the contest rules and it said the winners should be announced the week of May 15th. Last I checked that would be this week. And yes, I've been checking at least once every half hour whenever I've been home and awake :P

The last mission was surprisingly simple and, yes, we did it crippled again... :-S The final boss is pretty tough tho...lots of little trickses up his sleeveses...Tricksy little lich, he is. just took my lvl 16 or 17 ranger over to factions. some bad bugs over there. all lvl 20 to 28 guys 'bugs' that is . you come over on a boat about 1000miles form where you would have started ,with my lvl 1 guys. in factions. :D :D :D thx for the link elct.

Bummer deal on the emblem there...some were cool, but the beaver, the fish and the frog have got to go...Way too playschool. I guess we could always just get dru to hack the source code and get your emblem in there... :-)

From what I hear, it is a Factions thing. Chatter in the towns say that you can buy one with Factions or, get a free one with the Factions Collectors Edition. Not to sure how reliable the source is. They are bringing them over from Factions and selling them, saw one go for 60K the other day (Hydra mini pet). Not sure what they are or what they do yet though but its kinda like the Pet Rock to me (boy am I telling my age now).

You also get them if your character is older than 1 year. Type /age into the console and it'll give you your playing stats. When a character turns 1, you get one at random. Apparently there are quite a few, some more rare than others. But as far as I know, they dont do anything... Seems like an odd reason to cash out 50k+... cheers. t.

The Kunnavang dragon is the special consolation the buyers of the Factions Collectors Edition get for having to wait and go through all the hassle when the game was first released. That's the /bonusitems command. Any other mini pets are birthday presents for 1 year old characters (not accounts, meaning if you have two characters that have reached a year you get two pets). For those, once your character hits 12 months a birthday present is automatically deposited in your inventory. If you don't have an empty inventory slot all you have to do is get rid of an item and type /age. Dirty Deeds and I are contemplating a PvP get together this Saturday for all who are interested. Its kinda short notice, but it would be fun. I think I have unlocked enough of the skills to be fair-to-good at this now and we need an minimum of eight peeps to really do any harm to the other team. Anybody that wants in the fray, just give a shout. Dirty or myself will cover the in game guild fees for all who are interested. On a side note, I just bought factions and ran around for a bit in there this afternoon. The landscape seems much more 'hospitable' than that of Ascelon. I am not going to go too far into it yet because I wanna finish the story line of the first one. Right now I am at the Ring of Fire and preliminary judgement was correct, its HARD!!!

Ring of fire is easy.....just pull the mobs out of ether seal and dont aggro 2 mobs at once...then have 2 healers, 2 nukers, some tanks and an SS necro on ur team and mission and bonus can be done easily. Hardest mission is hell's Precipice...just cause u can't find many monks there :D......hardest bonus is killing glint in dragons lair. Anyways at wat time is the pvp 2day?

Quite honestly, there aren't really any missions that are extremely tough if you know what you're doing. There are little tricks for every mission. The only tough mission, IMO, is the bonus portion of Dunes of Despair. It took me several tries to finish that bonus....and I was grouped with people who had done it before. Oh, and even Glint is easy to beat if you bring an interrupt skill with you. We beat Glint down pretty easily. Much of the difficulty in beating each mission is trying to assemble a group with a good build. Waiting around for a(an) **insert class here** to join your group is tedious.

I have a question about Guild wars. I've thought about picking it up but I'm not sure of the difference in the three options, Guild Wars, Factions, and Nightfall... is there more features in the new one or are they just expansion packs?

Each one can be played individually. Factions has the Ritualist and the Assassin professions in addition to the core five. Nightfall has the Dervish and the Paragon professions in addition to the core five. When you own all three under one account your characters can travel to the other "continents".

For starters I'd get guild wars. Then, when you're locked in, pick up nightfall. I've heard factions was OK, but Nightfall is killer (just completed my free trial). In any case...come....join us.... @-) :shock: @-) :thumbup:

Howdy yall, Well, Anet finally added the leet area for NightFall. You have to complete all missions to be able to get to it though. Several new quests, one having 30,000 experience points as a reward. For those of you familiar with FoW and UW and think they are a challange -or - have been to The Deep and think its tough, you "aint seen nothing yet". They are cake compared to this new place. You'll need one each of the different jems to get there, so save 'em and dont spend 'em on the cool weapons, shields, and offhands just yet. Went in earlier today with a very experienced and well rounded group and got seriously pwned. And, we didnt have to go far to do it either. Good luck with this one. Chys

Yay, I just got Guild Wars and am looking forward to starting... I tried a bit tonight and it's a little confusing. I'm a Ranger by the name of Lycidia Of Eve. Won't get to play until next week, but I'd love to join a guild... errr maybe learn to play the game first hehe :D

So what's a good level to enter the war with? I'm a level 6 ranger/monk right now and am thinking about heading out from the beginning stages... or should I level up a bit more?

I like to hang out till 9 or 10 at least but yeah, it's all up to you. Pre is nice because you don't get penalized for dying on quests, so you can keep trying new angles on the same mission. But again, thats just my opinion! I ran my warrior up to lvl 13 in pre :-) I also have a Ranger in pre right now too so if you see PyRo or I on there, kick us...or toss us a cookie *cough*or guinness*cough* cheers. t.

So here's the update on GW for me. I'm currently in the guild AEI(Acerbus Et Ingens) with my wife as leader and I second in command(Unofficially) I'm still under Fires_Eclipse and am on GuildWars most of the time these days and making a comeback appearance on UT04. Sadly I have not the money or time to update to the current standards of the UT3. I can be found most on my Assassin Fires_Dealy. Fires_rangerite (My ranger) is my other most played character. (Be advised) My wife does have one account on my account. This is a paragon. She will say hi should you talk to her but she will say I'm not here since I'm normally not when she's on her paragon. There's my update. Oh and one last thing, if yall need help don't hesitate to ask we like helping out.

So that's why we haven't seen you online! I haven't tried GW, but I'm playing WAR (Warhammer Online) at the moment (Monolith server, Destruction)
