Vampiric Weapons

The RPG FAQ on Vampiric weapons says
Vampiric (Max Vampire is +50 )
+1 = 10% more Damage and 1% Vampire (same As Vampire skill)
+2 = 20% more Damage and 2% Vampire (same As Vampire skill)
+3 = 30% more Damage and 3% Vampire (same As Vampire skill)
+4 = 40% more Damage and 4% Vampire (same As Vampire skill)
+5 = 50% more Damage and 5% Vampire (same As Vampire skill)
+6 = 60% more Damage and 6% Vampire (same As Vampire skill)
+7 = 70% more Damage and 7% Vampire (same As Vampire skill)

Is this correct? I think a +7 vampiric weapon acts like the vampire ability level 7, which is 35% of damage. And so it would read

Vampiric (Max Vampire is +50 )
+3 = 30% more Damage and 15% Vampire (same As level 3 Vampire skill)
+4 = 40% more Damage and 20% Vampire (same As level 4 Vampire skill)
+5 = 50% more Damage and 25% Vampire (same As level 5 Vampire skill)
+6 = 60% more Damage and 30% Vampire (same As level 6 Vampire skill)
+7 = 70% more Damage and 35% Vampire (same As level 7 Vampire skill)

I hope I am right. As a junkie, I need health.
(On a test server, I shot a skaarj with a flak vampire+7, and it gave me +54 health, which is 35% of the skaarj's 150 health)

I think you are right about the forumla, but wrong about the skaarj health thing.

The Vampirism skill is supposed to steal a percentage of the damage you cause, not a percentage of the target's health. Which is why if you are level 5 and shoot a titan you dont steal much health at all.

Sorry I didn't explain properly.
The shot killed the skaarj. It had just spawned, only me playing, so I knew it had full health. So I reckon the damage I did equals the original health of the skaarj. So 150 damage.

Re:Vampiric Weapons

i beleave i posted about this a while ago, in a different topic,
indeed because the vampire magic weapon points to the damage in the vampirism ability, it does 5% and not 1%,
to make it even more funny, druid should know this,
because 1% is nowere to be mentioned in the code, except for in the info code :P
so he should be aware of this, since the very moment he made the vampire magic weapon.

sorry, I wasnt clear on the "other topic".
it was within the DruidsRPG169 topic I think, or samiliar non-sticky topic about DruidsRPG.

Also, the chance you wil still find it inthere, is 0, because it got cleaned out by Druid,
but I am pretty sure it was in that topic.

Still, it is good that there is a actual topic about it now.

ok. check this out.

I believe a full flak damage will put out about 95 points of damage.

so. you take 95 and then add the bonus, which is 70%:

95 * 1.70 = 161.5

and then you take the vampiric part and give it to you, which is 35%:

161.5 * .35 = 56.525

and there you have your points. it turns out to be about the same as above.

Re:Vampiric Weapons

When you say full flak it sounds like you mean the guns base damage. Keep in mind that because of players and monsters having both Damage Bonus and Damage Reduction stats, the flak could possibly cause anywhere from 1 damage to conceivably thousands of points of damage depending on how you spent your points, what level the monsters are at, which server you play on with certain or no stat caps at all.

Lots and lots of variables there.
The simplest way to visualize is that whatever final damage you can cause to a monster, thats what the percentage of stealing is based on.

It's not worth crunching numbers on since every time you level up and spend points the numbers all change anyway. Most people can safely steal enough health with Vamp level 5 or higher.
