I did not say to vote for the sake of voting please read again.

In my opinion, CNN is a very good resource they show all sides of the debate. With that said, Glen Beck (CNN) seems to only show the Republican side. I would not stand next to him at the voting booth. BUT I do like to hear his argument as he thinks outside the box.

“The scary part is not so much the politicians, but the number (millions, now THAT is scary) of "misinformed" voters that "think" they know what
the real issues are, because they "saw" TV ads and propaganda garbage, without having the proper criteria, or the
critical thinking involved to make a wise vote”

The “misinformed” took the time to vote and they are part of a process. I think the lazy ones would far out number than the “misinformed” voters. I would rather see one take the interested than have no interest at all. I do not know anyone that finds politics an easy learn. I may be one of those misinformed but I vote to make a change and have my voice heard. The armchair spectators are the ones that complain the most the ones that were too lazy to vote. We should encourage not discourage people to vote.

Hello Pyramidion.

Wow that is terrific, it is great that you are so enthusiastic and that you know your candidate! I am glad that you are going to enjoy this experience. Thank you for encouraging others to vote and for taking the time to educate yourself. Voting is not an easy task it takes research to figure out who you think the best.

At a young age my dad told me that the right to vote was very important and to do it he said this is one thing we have. He said it in a much eloquent way I always remember his advice. He reminded me that the Suffragettes fought for the right for women to vote. And to remember the fight that African Americans went though to vote. This was not too long ago in the Western world.

When I was young, I remember a friend of mine who encouraged me to vote year and I was being lazy. She told me to pick her party and told me it was the best choice. I had researched a little and had an opinion, which was not hers, but thought my vote would not make a difference. This was really lazy behaviour on my part I would have rather watched Coronation street on TV at the time. She volunteered for her party and told me she would drive me to the polling station and give me a free lunch. Great I got a tuna sandwich, an apple and a free ride there and back so I went to vote. I never told her that I voted for my party and not hers!

My mother and dad voted for different parties and a row ensued. I was the result of an election when my parents made up the same night!

Re:For your ears only

Yes Demon I think cell phone calls are banned in California when driving. I cannot count the amount of times I have been close to being hit by someone driving with a cell phone.

4 years ago, I heard a huge noise outside my apartment and looked outside and someone had hit a pedestrian with a van. I live on a ground floor apartment on the corner that is located on a fairly busy street. The street is lined with apartments and houses it is residential and the speeding limit is 25 (I think – I do not drive). Looked out my window, phoned 911 and went outside to help. Witnesses told me the driver was on the cell phone when he hit her. He turned a sharp left by cutting the corner and hit her as he was in the wrong lane. The driver is aware that this is a residential area and most likely took a short cut not to be on the main road where his restaurant is located. The lady was thrown to the curb I do not know where she was hit. She appeared to be okay but had bruising on her face. I offered to go with her to the hospital (3 blocks away) for support but the ambulance told me they would take good care of her. She reached a friend on her cell prior to leaving so she was in good hands. This was an awful incident and it still sits with me to this day I hope she was okay. At the time, my heart was pounding and I was shaking as this terrified me they could have taken me to the hospital for near shock. I went to the restaurant once after for a friends birthday party but never again. He seemed to have shown no remorse but looks can be deceiving he may have been terrifed himself.

The most important thing is to get out and vote. Your vote counts. If you are a first time voter there is a forum on CNN called "The League of First Time Voters”, check it out. I watch a lot of CNN, Larry King, Anderson Cooper 360 (my favourite) and Glen Beck to learn more about USA politics as they affect Canada.

I think all the candidates are scary this is a hard election. Sorry not to offend but Palin scares me the most.

The economy is bad right now and it is going to get worst before it gets better. You have to think of the long term not fixes not short term fixes that the government is doing right now (example bail-outs).

Great advice, from Griz " A politician is a politician is>>>>>>>>>>>>>>pick the one that is closest to getting you want”.

Spend time and research each party and all the candidates.

In my humble opinion:

If I could vote my choice would be Obama. Wish Clinton had won and Obama was her running mate. I do not think Obama has enough experience but there needs to be a change. Race and gender have nothing to do with my choice. The polls are stating that these 2 parties are very close. I would not vote for an independent as they are not going to win this election. It would be better to pick the lesser evil of the 2 top parties as it may come down to just a few votes. This election is stated as being one of the most important in US history.

I'm with you Hatter, Road is friendly, diplomatic, well-mannered and thoughtful, traits that some of these polititions lack.

Hello Dru

Thank you the update is appreciated. When the website and server was down I was saddened as I was worried that it was gone. Not only would it be a loss of great server but of playing buddies. Thank you for the fantastic server and website I appreciate all that you do. I will make a donation in the next few days to back that up!

It would be nice to see you both on line I have not seen you in over a year.

Give my best to Shan,

Re:Help please

Hello: I forgot to mention that if I folded the body in half (lengthwise) the legs and arms would be the same. When I cut the body out it saves time as I fold the felt in the center. This allows me to cut one leg and one arm and when I lay flat I have all the arms and legs. There are no odd shapes and the reptile will be exact when I sew 2 pieces together. I hope this information is not confusing....
