I haven't been here in a while but I'm moving to SLC and remembered there were a few people that were from that area. Any suggestions on stuff to do / see?

mopuse issues

The disk that comes with the mouse should have an application that can be accessed from the system tray. You need to use it to set the buttons on the mouse.

XP Service Pack 3

I hit the download but it didn't seem to ever get to the install part. Havn't noticed any difference on any computer I have.

Video Cards

The 8800 GT will outperform the 8800 GTS in most cases since it uses a new architecture that wasn't available when the 8800 GTS and 8800 GTX came out. Not sure you'll actually need SLI either, I'm running a single 8800 GT on a Athelon X2 5000 and have almost everything maxed out without an issue. Also Ive heard rumors about UT3 not liking SLI much.

I bet the fans get gummed up in the cooking oil after a bit. Also they probably pull more power from the PSU since there not designed to circulate oil.

I'm beginning to think there is another program running in the background, bit-torrent or even some spyware or malware. Something is causing you to loose a lot of packets. Your network card wouldn't happen to be a broadcom would it?

Check your connection speed. From what you said it sounds like a network problem, maybe the nic, router, modem, cable etc..

What's the deal with the UT3 server?

I actually like the game it does need another patch though. I doubt that its ever going to have the amount of content UT2004 did though, its just a lot harder to make game assets now and a lot of stuff for UT2004 came from or was made for UT2003 official or community.

Try loading the defaults in the BIOS (usually del, F10, or one of the other function keys) Then try booting into safe mode (F8 right after the beep when booting) If you don't get anywhere doing that the nVidia 8800GT's are probably the best deal out there, about $200 - $250

I bought it and am returning it. I couldn't even install it, the installer cant even find the installation files. I would definatly recommend not buying it unless your computer comes with it preinstalled. Basically there is no way of knowing if your computer can bu "upgraded" to vista (or if the new computer you built will run with it)
