I got my first headhunter last night. It wasent a good score but the award made up for the experiance i did not get in the later levels, (I was playing with only bots).

Uhh I may be wrong here, but I think that weapon masters already get weapons that AMs don't. I havent played much, but I have defenatly seen people pull out weapons that don't spawn on a paticular map and use them..... I play an AM sometimes and I don't think they do that.

There is a significant difference between the capabilities of the 6600gt and the 7800gt, mostly in particle and T&L effects. The 6600gt supports HDR (high dynamic range lighting) but isent fast enough to pull the best frame rate with it enabled. The 7800gt pulls it off and then some.

That last post seems a little extreme to me.

I don't mind dying when I screw up, put myself in a bad place, or even when I'm blindsided because I havent payed enough attention.

It is entirely something else to guarantee that I won't be able to kill anything on level 10 or above.

I like that the game is hard. I want to be challanged.

a few things dont make sense here. The numbers you put down for your motherboard? Well, Intel's site does not list those numbers as a Intel board. Maybe it is a Intel reference board? At any rate, I called my ex-brother in law and he works for Intel, They don't currently produce that board.

Second thing, you have 2 types of graphics cards listed in your wants above, 1 of them is an AGP card, which is cool if your motherboard is an AGP board, which I think it may be as it is a 640 board? I think?

the other 2 graphics cards are PCIe cards, which take a different style slot. there are only a couple of motherboards on the market that have slots for both.

BTW I like the 7800gt. I have a pair of the previous generation Nvidia cards and the 7800gt is better than both of them in SLI mode.

Honestly, in looking for a graphics card. Buy name brand. I like EVGA but there are plenty of choices out there. The only one I havent liked for Nvidia is the XFX brand which has some spacific drivers for its card that preclude using
reference drivers direct from Nvidia. (the Nvidia drivers dont work on 2 cards friends of mine replaced recently)

I havent been able to build a machine with better components in the last couple of years for less than they sell them for (using high end name brand components).

don't skimp on the warrenty if you buy there, out of 8 systems that friends and assosiates have bought there over the last 4 years, 2 had problems with the cheepy powersuplys that they insisted would be enough for their needs.

I like the Idea, I don't even mind the cost of health or adrennaline.

I would like to see the cost based upon the relitive power of the player v.s. the medic. I think that this would be an evening factor in the cost of the skill.

So a lvl 80 medic has a standard cost to bring back a lvl 80 LW say >> 150 adrrenel and health, but it would only cost him say 100 of each to bring back a level 25?(minimum cost of 100 each) but a level 300 would cost him 300 each (while he was level 80)

I dont know, I would like to see the skill usable at lower levels, but because players are killing themselves at the end of early levels to get new magic weapons from their loaded weapons skill, there need to be some balancing factors.

Actualy, I like protection +4. It keeps me alive! Especaily from self damage. I play my medic for a while and get used to using my rocket launcher up close and then swithch to my LA and OUCH!

Just different play styles. My medic can get up close for a point blank tripple rocket shot. My LA needs to keep his stand off distance and dodge.

I can tell you that the difference between this computer and my last is insane!

Just for referance my last computer was a P3 700 overclockd to 1515. fsb of 134 with 756 MB of ram and a G-force 4200 TI all riding on an ASUS P7N8 board I had and upgraded that computer over about 5 years... until it reached
the limit of its feasable upgrade power for the buck.

now, I load a level of UT and have a good 10 seconds before anyone else is in the game, of course the match does not start until there are enough players, but it lets me determine where I am and where the closest pick ups are. I can get first blood when I want to about 30% of the time now.

Running dual graphics cards gives games awsome frame rates compared to what I used to run, even the newer games. you should see HDR on counterstrike.

as for other aplicatons, I accidently opoened 6 versions of a program and dident notice until I closed the one I was working in. Multitasking is so easy. and boot up takes 9 seconds.

also. I noticed that some people already kind of do this sort of thing: what you do is, between waves, you swithch to your luck weapon, there is almost always at least one in someones inventory, and group near the medics, between waves. I have been able to give out up to 10 shield pack 50s using this method with a lucky+7 and it does not matter how effective the weapon is otherwise unless its one you use ALOT in combat and need to swithc the magic bonus on.

It would be real cool if you got experiance for others picking up what your lucky generated tho....

ok, instead of adding more or bigger monsters, just take away all magic modifyers for the wave. No pluses, no abilities.

cant say that I will play it much yet, heck the day I found this server I had purchased battlefield 2, it still sits in its fred meyer bag next to my computer.

This server has kept me from even being tempted to open it up and give it a try. Now, I have only been here for like 3 weeks now, but after going through the forums and "meeting-seeing" the people that play here, Im stuck.

I only even reinstalled UT04 because I wanted to see how well my new computer made it look and by some random chance picked this server out of an amazingly long list, but I am here to stay.

If you want to do a parralell server, cool. Im going to start chipping in after my next paycheck anyway.
