I seriously suggest removing Gael. The only people who get points on that one are mine layer campers.
This is a sort of related suggestion. Why not remove the 50 most played maps for a few weeks? hehehehe. This morning I somehow got CTF-Phaseshift (or something like that) voted in, and it was an awesome awesome map (unique idea with the "ghosts") but I know that nobody is going to vote for it no matter how many times I try to get it voted in during prime time. But by removing the most played maps.... people will be forced to play new maps for once.

Also a couple of times last nite a map that won the vote was autoswitched by the server, and then greyed out of the list without ever being played. Flux2 won the vote and it sent us to Squader for the second time in an hour, and maybe an hour or two later Deck17 won the vote but I dont rememeber where it sent us to. Both times it greyed out the map that won the vote, and we never even loaded the maps.
Heh, that's acually what happened earlier today. People voted for ONS-Redplanet or something, and it shot out BR-Canyon instead.
I was so happy that it errd that time.

So far smooth as silk. Even the amd 64 binary seems to be working correctly
Acually, on a couple maps today there was some horrible lag for everyone. And the thing where the graphics (like flak trails, flak shells, rockets, link gun prim or sec) cumulatively don't show up on screen when there's a lot going on, is happening again.
I really _really_ need to know which maps these are.
I think the one where it was the worst was BR-Canyon.

That looks pretty nice... but that picture is almost a megabyte in size. If I were to use that as a sig on ANY forum, the forum Admin would laugh like a maniac before banning me.

There, if anyone downloaded this and had problems, redownload it again now and reinstall it. It should work. FINALLY.

Looks like I'm jumping on the bandwagon and whatnot. Earlier this year I had tried searching for a Cloud Strife (my namesake) model, but to no avail. However, Acydreign emailed me a link to such a model.
In the end I had to end up modifying the skin a bit, but here is the skin I will be using in all it's glory:
Click Here to Download it (extract the contents to your ut2004 directory)
The model looks something somewhat resembling this (just a lesser quality):
Fixed.

I'm well aware that the server probably has enough gametypes as it is, but I think there's another that we should give a spin:
Bio-Invasion .
What is it? Instead of the usual Unreal monsters, it replaces them with moving, attacking blobs of goo, not dissimilair to what comes out of the Bio-Rifle. When these blobs are just starting out, they are easy pickings. But should anyone allow them to merge with one another, they will get huge, and their HP will increase seemingly exponentially.
Now, I've played this in instant action, and it was very hard for me. But on a server with 20 people.... I think we might acually stand a chance. I think this gametype has the possibility of being as hard (or harder then) 2k3 invasion, but without decimating the lower level players (it is easy to run away from a large blob of goo, as long as you don't let it catch you or you're goo food).
Then again this gametype could be a huge pile of steaming crap, but I still think it's worth a shot.
edit: click here for some very old screenshots.

It's been quite some time since I've fooled around in photoshop, so when I finally got around to some fooling around, I made a disastrousconsequences.com wallpaper.
Do to my... artistic code, I never use a screen shot or any 3rd party images when I put something together in photoshop, with few exceptions. So here is the fruit of my labor (only bout an hour) and enjoy or don't enjoy as you see fit (click on picture for larger size):

We'll see when you hit 100 and you're the only surviving player...
As vor says, the monsters scale with the level, however, the players are capped on damage reduction/bonus, so you cant keep up with the monsters. The best you can do is buy other skills to supliment you
Arrrgh, but the low levels have to fight against the same monsters that are "keeping up" with the 100's. And those same monsters are easier to beat for the 100's as long as there's someone still alive that's a lower level than them (which is quite often, especially in the case of me, expert survivalist.)

Heya Em, trust me though, you'll be fighting hard at level 100 to stay alive. The challenge at our level becomes survival. The additional skills just keep us alive
I honestly don't see how that's possible. The people in the hundreds (aka people twice my level or more) should have it the easiest of all. At my level survival is a bit of a struggle, bot not really. They are the people who have twice as many stat points put in to various abilities and stats than me. We all fight the same monsters. And once it gets to 10k xp per level, when you reach level 66, it doesn't take any more xp to go up a level than to last. Always 10k after that. You can't tell me it gets harder? The more levels you go up, the most your stats/abilities go up, the faster the kills.
Sure the monsters level scale SOMEwhat accordingly, as to who is still alive, but no matter how you look at it, the 100's will almost always have monsters at lower level than them, and the low levels will almost always have monsters at a higher level than them.
Isn't that somewhat skewed? 100's have just gotten soft.
