Hello Folks:

Miss Kitty?s informal Bio and recent Surgery Update. I have been meaning to add my bio to the forum. Last night I was playing on DC and Aqualung brought it up that I was sick. I have been very sick the last few weeks as I have chronic pain. Many of you gave me good wishes for my Bladder surgery that I had today, October 3, and you wanted an update. So now I will give a little Bio and my update at the same time.

4.50 Years ago I went off work with a painful bladder disease called Interstitial Cystitis and chronic migraines. Over the last 4 years my health got worst and so did the pain I could no longer go to the gym. Prior to this I was heavily into weight training and wanted to build up my body and enter Masters competition for naturally body. I was strong I could bench more than my weight and do many chin-ups. But I still have a six-pack so not all is lost.

I have 2 surgeries a year but took a break from it last year (had around 7 of them). Today?s surgery was done under a General like all of them. I had a Bladder Hydrodistention (fill bladder with fluid to make it bigger), Transurethral fulguration and resection of ulcers, dialiation of the urthera. Fulguration involves burning Hunner's ulcers using electricity or a laser. When the area heals, the dead tissue and the ulcer fall off, leaving new, healthy tissue behind. Resection involves cutting around and removing the ulcers. Both treatments, done under anesthesia, use special instruments inserted into the bladder through a cystoscope.

It was successful the doctor treated the ulcers and the pin point bleeding and pumped up my bladder to make it bigger and also had my urethra enlarged. This procedure created a lot of pain so I was heavily medicated with several types of pain med. This condition cannot be cured but it can go into remission. I also have chronic migraines, IBS and arthritis in neck. It took 2 years to get a diagnosis and I think it started in the early nineties I was always showing blood in the urine. This is NOT a bacterial infection and one must stay away from cranberry and acidic/spicy foods.

Interstitial cystitis is a chronic, and often severe, inflammation of the bladder wall, the cause of which is unknown. Primary symptoms are urinary frequency, urgency, and, for some, severe lower abdominal or perineal pain. Some ladies urinate anywhere from 30 100 times a day sometimes more

The reason I am sharing this with you is that many women/men do not know they have it and get treated for other conditions or are told it is all in your head. My male friend ended up being sterile for having the wrong operations. Men with IC symptoms are often misdiagnosed as prostatitis or bladder outlet obstruction (1) patients.

If you have any friends/ loved ones that have pain/soreness urgency/frequency in the bladder and are not getting any help and are frantic and feel they are not being heard. Please get an appointment with a Urologist. I was told it is only blood in the urine. Well blood is a symptom of some thing wrong.

Out of all our players there could be one with these issues or a family member or friend. Here is a great website that I use for help: http://www.ic-network.com/handbook/basics.html

Here is a little information about me.

My name is Yvonne and I turned 50 years young this year. I live in Vancouver Canada but was born in Northampton England. I am very youthful and like to have fun paying computer games. I actually played games on my TI99 back in the early eighties. I use to play a game called ?Tunnels of Doom?. After the nightclubs closed 3 friends would come to my place and we would play. We would make Bananas Flambé and have a few more cocktails. We all had weird names and my character was Spanky from the old Gang.

For the last 20 years I have worked in non-profit groups as Administrative Manager and Conference planner. I worked for an AIDS group, Environment Group and a the largest Parent Advisory Group in Canada (In the US they are called PTAs)

After I left work due to illness my pets got ill so I started making organic catnip toys and elf/wizard hats by hand to pay for vet bills. I found out I am very good at making crafts and like making them. I also started selling items on eBay like, old racing cars models, collectibles, pottery, antique books and old sewing supplies. I once sold a Lalique Car Mascot head for $416.00 and bought it for 1$. I have a knack for this and like it.

Kitty and Muggy both had Thyroid disease and then after radiation Kitty got kidney disease. During this time I rescued a cat called Felix and found out he had Feline AIDS. Kitty passed away 2 years ago after a brave fight with kidney disease. He did not die from Kidney disease he died from fluid on his lungs. Muggy has inflammatory bowel & kidney disease and Gall bladder flare-ups. Muggy had a gall bladder and biopsy surgery last year. Muggy ended up with a feeding tube for 2 months so I could give her medications. This was a lifesaver, Muggy never complained of tried to pull her tube out. She had to wear a little sweater and I made them very pretty. She is very hard to dose and was on 5 meds a day and it was easy to give. For the first 2 weeks she ate so I only gave her some food with the meds that needed food. The vet gave Muggy a carved wooden purple heart for bravery. Muggy never complained or suffered she just got more needy and she now seeks affection from anyone who visits.

Muggy is now stable with her liver enzymes in check and the kidney disease is stable. It is not getting bad enough to require treatment. She is a happy, loving, playful little cat and I am pleased that she is still with me.

I was selling on eBay to pay for the vet bills but got too sick to continue and started getting depressed. I started playing UT on the DC server and it lifted my spirits.

So if any of you need help on Cat illnesses or Interstitial Cystitis I will be happy to receive a private message from you.

Thank you Zero for this thread and the time it took for you to write it. It is nice to be refreshed with this information.

There are 2 schools of thought about artifacts.

First come- first served or if you kill the monster you get the artifact.

I am with the later. I have gone though a map hoping to find a mwm only to loose to someone else. Sometimes you may run over an object and not realize it at the time, as you are too busy fighting of monsters. I ask whom's item it is just in case it was not mine. Other players do this as well and toss it over if they are not sure. I would really like to have clear direction on this and think it should be one of the rules so I will not be called a "vulture" if I run over an item that I thought was mine.

At times I direct players to the website as it is filled with Newbie information and I do not want to disturb other players by over talking as I am lousy on the keyboards (also have a gaming zboard and it is harder to use). I try to write when I am dead or on countdown of waves.

hello TechWarrior:

That game was lots of fun there must 20 Titans chasing you.

Thank you Fodder, great information...maybe this information can become a sticky?

Yvonne
WOW lots of work .. I wish I had know how to do this

Yvonne
Thank you Boingo:

I have been in touch with the ASPCA and they are still rescuing. An agency in New Orleans ( I forgot who) wants to keep the rescued animals in the region for a month so people can pick them up. This is a big dilemma, as they do not have the room for them. From my understanding the rescue was halted for one day due to this fact. The Humane Society has moved some of the pets out of State.

Today I sent the ASPCA a cheque and a bag full of my home made catnip mice. Maybe they can fundraise with them and make some money. My toys are really high end; very cute and safe they are made of felt and I sew them by hand.

The government should not let these animals die like what happened to the people. Too many people have died due to the lack of organization and cooperation of the levels of government.

Thank you for sharing this with us it sure is beautiful,

Yvonne
Thanks Chyster
Sorry, I do not know how my writing went to one side this was not intentional.

Yvonne
Thanks Deunan:

If it would make a difference I would fly down there to help with the pet rescue effort. It is so upsetting to me that they will not let people leave with their beloved pets. These people are risking their lives to be with them and I do not question it. I would be one of these folks. Some people do not understand the caring one has for pets that they are a family member.

I do understand that is hard to place a person with a pet. There is no place for them unless someone opens up their home. I think most people would rather live in a tent and keep their pets.

Some pets have been let out with their owners.

Hello Folks:

I came across this information on my eBay chat forum. Yvonne

For those who wish to help!
Mayor Ray Nagin of New Orleans has stopped all animal rescue now that mandatory evacuation has begun. Please sign this petition, and forward it to anyone you can to sign, to make sure animals are included. Animals can survive on this water, but they are going to starve to death and the contaminated water will shortly start to kill them. Many are chained and cannot get food.

Please sign the petition, they don't understand why they're left behind - neither do I.......please help save them. Humans shouldn't be the only priority - we're the ones responsible for them and now they're dying with each passing moment.

Hello Folks:

I have had a few ADSL connection challenges and have received help while in a game. My suggestion is to share connection issue tips.

My connection is in another room so I drilled a hole in the wall to reach my connection. I was told that the cord should be no longer than 10 feet.

I have a battery back up and had my telephone cord plugged into the surge connection. I was loosing connection quite often until someone on a game chat told me to move it to the computer input.

I live in Beautiful, Vancouver, British Columbia Canada. I was born in England and moved to Canada when I was 9.

I use to feed the stray cats in the neighborhood and my friends started calling me Miss Kitty, which is a much nicer name than ?Cat Lady?.

Now the strays all have homes. I rescued my big baby boy Felix 4.5 years ago. He could not longer walk (so I could catch him) and needed muscle surgery due to a gaping wound and dental work. He also had 3 big abscesses and needed fixing. Felix has Feline AIDS but is doing very well. He is a big Tom and weighs around 17 pounds he is too big to fit on my knee.

I have a white cat called Muggy (13) who it my little angel, I call her my blessing from God. I am not religious but know I have been blessed. My cat called Kitty died 2.5 years ago he was 18 years old. ><

Yvonne
The dog skin is very cute thank you for posting it.
