Thanks for the heads up, we'll be sure to look out for this.
I'm with Boingo... no snow in Utah.... send it to NY!!!
Indeed, Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
Well the concert was fantastic. Shiny toy guns seemed to have a much greater amount of energy due to their new singer, Sisely. She seemed extremely excited to be up there and it translated to a really energetic show. The band stuck around after the show so I got to meet them.... they pretty much hung out with the small crowd left which was awesome. The opening act was of a British band known as Your Vegas. I highly recommend this group, they sound like a mix between The Bravery and The Killers. I'm going to try and find their album "A Town and Two Cities" this week. Their myspace page is linked below.

I've heard a little bit of the new album, and I really like it, but not in the same way that I like We Are Pilots. The female singer (I forget her name) left to join a band called Versant (it's on myspace music).

Yeah, Carah... I think.... the new vocalist Sisely Treasure is very good, but definitely different. I'll be sure to look into Carah's new band, I still am a bit disappointed she left though.
I know this band is getting a bit more well known, but Shiny Toy Guns has a new album out "Season of Poison." They have a new lead female vocalist as well. I personally love the new album, but it's definitely more rock than their first album. They haven't lost their sound, but it's much heavier this time around. I'm going to see them in concert tonight so I'm ecstatic, but I highly suggest the album if you liked their first!

Oh, and Ratar... any news on The Sugar Report's album?
Just voted... I'm glad it's going to be over, it's been a long process. I'll be eagerly anticipating the results tonight! Did anyone have difficulty with huge lines that I keep reading about?

Also if you don't plan on going out and want something neat to watch... TAPS aka Ghost Hunters is having their annual live Halloween special on Scifi. This year they will be investigating Fort Delaware.
Sorry, just had to give them a lil plug.

I forgot.... that'll be great!

so i was at the dentist today and heard that Guns n Roses is releasing some new stuff...anyone heard anything about this?!

Heh, again I go back to Rock band 2. They do have a new cd coming out and one song is in the game. It's actually pretty good, not sure how the new cd will be, but it looks promising.

Has anyone heard of Hollywood Undead? I just heard one of their songs the other day. it's pretty good I think. the song is called "Undead." to me it sounds like some rock mixed with rap type stuff, but then again I'm not that into genre stuff, if I hear a song I like, I listen to it lol.

I have actually, my roommate found them one day and showed me. They're definitely a mix of rock/rap... I enjoyed Undead and one of their songs will be free on Rock Band 2 in November.

Anyone else listen to the new Keane CD? I just got it and it's amazing

I bought it immediately haha... It's wayyyy different than their other stuff, a few songs are a bit too 80's ish for me, but overall it's a fantastic album. I didn't know about amazon's free mp3's either, may have to check that out.
One of the songs while playing Madden 09 struck me as amazing, so I went out and bought the artists cd which came out on tuesday. Innerpartysystem (odd name) is a brand new band that I think has some great potential. A few might know their song Don't Stop, but I only heard it for the first time about a month ago. The cd is pretty good, it's a rock group, but they do odd synthesizer things and techno-ish effects. I recommend checking them out, at least to hear Don't Stop which will get anyone pumped up.

Good to hear that you like it. I was 'planning' on getting it for the PS3 when it comes out in October. The music seems like it is rather diverse. I'm glad the original equipment works for it or I don't know if I would of gotten it or not.

It is quite the selection... they range from songs like Spirit In the Sky to insane metal. I didn't expect the game to have such a wide range of types of music, some you'll love, a few you may hate. Another cool thing is "Battle of the Bands" which is a challenge for your band or solo players. You have to compete through a setlist in a certain way to try and post the best score online. It's cool because you can compete against everyone, or have a small competition among your friends.
One of my roommates just purchased the game, so we've created a band and are currently "touring the world" haha. We collectively bought the Rockband 1 set with all the instruments and just bought Rockband 2 on top of that. It was a hefty price, but it's very fun. I liked Rockband 1, but I think that the second is a much improved version and well worth the 60 dollars if you have the equipment already. Creating a character and rocking out with friends is a blast. The downloadable content is impressive, plus 20 free songs for just buying the game. So far I'm a big fan of Panic Attack by Dream Theater, Hungry Like the Wolf, and Eye of the Tiger.... the vocals are fantastic. So if you liked Rockband 1 you'll love this game, the guitar seems like it's improved and less picky... the difficulty is ramped up a bit... and it's just plain fun. So I recommend it if you have the equipment, if not I'd say wait till mid October to get the bundle with the newer equipment.

The most important thing is to get out and vote. Your vote counts. If you are a first time voter there is a forum on CNN called "The League of First Time Voters”, check it out.

I've technically voted before, but this will be my first presidential election. I do have a definite opinion on it and have researched heavily into the candidates, but overall I'm just very excited to vote. I try and keep as up to date on news as possible and have encouraged my friends to vote... I'm hoping for a better turnout for the 18-25 year olds this election, should be interesting!
