I get the same problem as untamed does..My weapon will not penetrate through the dead monster until it has completely disappeared.

I believe untamed isn't using vesta_ut2k4 anymore. Don't recall why, but it could have been because she was having problems with it. It works just fine on my machine. Boid_ut2k4 works fine on mine as well.

See if upgrading your video card drivers fixes anything.

i got it working and untameds' vesta_ut24k did work.. embarassing as it is, I was putting the in our back up hard drive instead of my regular hard drive

so thanks guys for all your help..

..you need a video card that has direct x8 support out of the box to see some of the effects I think it would still show up though since I used a fallback texture.

Have you tried using the skin offline to see if you can see it. I know one of the skins in my pack doesn't seem to work online(ut2mdl-nurse), but it works online. I'm trying to figure that one out. (maybe somebody knows how to fix that )

Another thing you could do is see if there's a newer version of that skin.

I can't think of any other reason right now that they shouldn't be working. If you installed all the files in the right place it should be working.

Do you have a skin in particular that isn't working. Maybe I can take a look and figure out what needs to be done to make it work.

Vesta_ut24k (untamed's skin) the Bledosian skin,
Boid_ut24k those are just a few that i can remember.. i've had them installed for months, and recently removed and re-installed them just in case they were in the incorrect folders, but it hasn't worked yet.
