I had the same problem when some of my L4D files refused to defragment. I found a program called Game booster which can defragment just the program I want it to. Gamebooster can also shut down any services that aren't needed while playing games so the game will have that much more memory to use.

I still haven't been able to get my sounds yet. I even downloaded the demo but the voice extractor wouldn't accept that as a valid installation. Please keep trying.

I reinstalled my operating system since playing UT2k4 and have since been unable to get the program installed because of damaged disks. I need someone to extract sound files from my Fry voicepak for me. My voicepak is provided below. They should come out as .wav files. If someone could zip those .wav files and upload them here that would be great.

Unfortunately for me the UT2K4VoicePackager won't run unless I have UT2K4 game installed.

What Szlat suggested should work. I've been using a program called COA. It allows you to move a program installed on one drive to another location. You have to actually move the files yourself but the program goes into the registry and makes all the necessary link changes. It works in WinXP even though the site doesn't mention it.

If I remember correctly. WM was the only choice for a long time so they were up many levels before the other classes were introduced... either that or they are just better.

Gamestop is selling L4D2 for $29.99 today and possibly tomorrow with free shipping on purchases over $25. With tax that's about $32.00 for a game that's only 2 weeks old and was selling for $50.

Actually, upgrading MB and Video card. They both work now together great. The more pressing reason I'm not playing UT2004 is I lent my UT2004 disks to my nephew so he can try it out, he couldn't install it so he gave me my disks back w/o the CD key. Can't reinstall it without the key.

1. Open uPaint (found on disk 6 on install CDs.)
2. Click OPEN then find the character to be edited
3. Click FILE -> SAVE AS then save as a new name
4. Click on pane with the head
5. Click FILE -> EXPORT TEXTURE (this makes a head ".upt" file in the CHARACTERS folder.
6. Do the same for the body pane
7. Open UnrealEd.exe (found in the UT\System folder)
8. Click TEXTURES tab
9. Click FILE -> IMPORT then find your head.upt file (make sure GENERATE MIPMAPS is checked)
10. Click OK ALL
11. DO the same for the body.upt file
12. Now click on the pane with the head
13. Click FILE -> EXPORT then export in the format you want (.bmp, .tga, .pcx)
14. This file can now be edited in your favorite photo editor.
15. AS you edit you can save it once in awhile then go back to uPaint and import it to the appropriate pane to see how it's looking.
16. when your done then in uPaint Click FILE and export it out to UT.
