Added the Ability HardCore for players that simply want a brutal game. This ability presently makes it so you cannot be helped by other players (shields, healing, artifacts)
We also decided to give you a 5% cumulative damage bonus for the skill.
Sparky, this skill is (mainly) for you!
Now we could add a weapon that prevents healing, and then add a monster that fires no heal shots at you.

This morning Szlat, Shantara, and I rolled out the latest changes to the RPG which added subclasses which should be considered "in beta"

I just checked in a new ability, AbilityHardcore
This ability currently disables shield healing and weapon based healing, but I was a bit nervous of changing the Sphere code. If anyone has a chance, will you tweak that code to prevent healing if they have HardCoreInv in the pawn's inventory?

Shantara made the changes as requested this evening.
We found that some of you had played the characters you had requested the name changes for. We have merged your stats, so you may find some additional levels on your old characters, and the new characters with the same names have been deleted.

The problem is that certain Japanese characters that some people love to use in their names cause the UT2004RPG.ini file to convert from ISO8859-1 to UTF-16LE
ISO8859-1 uses one byte per character. UTF16-LE uses 4 bytes per character. The result is that the RPG file quadruples in size, and every time it is saved, which is frequently, the server now has to handle saving 4 times the data.
In the past, when I've down converted the file, it hasn't caused anyone any issues, however apparently there were some more interesting characters inserted this time.
Finding people with high ascii in their names has always been an issue. It's almost impossible to search the file by name when you have these characters in your name.
For those of you having this issue, we will do a one time name swap for you. You must follow the instructions for how to obtain your cd key hash here: http://www.disastrousconsequences.com/wiki/index.php/CDKey_hash
Then give us a rough guess of what your character names were, and what you'd like them to be without any unusual ascii characters.
You can then email unreal@disastrousconsequences.com and we'll endeavor to change your names this following weekend.

Originally there wasn't a medic class at all. We added in healing so you could keep your monsters alive.
Would there really be a purpose to a monster only class? Would you really have enough skills to buy as just a medic?

At the moment we're working out some balancing issues in the classes. I'd say if we can get that nailed down, we'll do a release.
