Just a heads up to the GW crowd eagerly awaiting the drop of GW2, they just opened up for closed beta signups. 48 hours only. Process is similar to blizzard, download the spec checker, run it, fill out a form, then madly refresh your inbox until gmail suspends your account.

Oh, you know, pulled a Hussein. Dug a hole, hibernated for a while, nothing terribly glamorous.

Did I miss much excitement in my absence?

LOVED the otherland series, still one of my all time favs. He has a couple fantasy series that I would recommend as well!

Also recommended, Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson, and The Diamond Age, also by Stephenson.

Finally, read Neverwhere, by Neil Gaiman. Brilliant, deliciously twisted dark fantasy book!

As for myself, I'm currently listening to the Song of Ice and Fire series. I have a good commute so I fill the space with some great books! It is not a series for the feint of heart tho. Brutal in every aspect. (The miniseries is exclusive to HBO, if that says anything). But, it is also brilliantly written imho. A ton of complex characters & storylines, diverse cultures and lands, and fantastic creatures to boot! If you opt for the audiobooks, make sure you get the ones read by Roy Dotrice. They had some other guy read a few of the books and he's terrible. Anyway, on the 3rd book and loving it!
Sooooo, movies lately...

RED - Totally loved it! Everything about this movie was entertaining. John Malkovich stole the show tho, his performance was epic! Go see it! I'M GETTIN THA PIIIIG!!!

Ip Man - One of the best kung fu movies I've ever seen. Tho I don't want to drop it in the 'kung fu movie' bucket, as it is a fantastic movie, with kung fu! (Those of you who watch 'kung fu movies' get what I'm saying) It's a story about the Grandmaster of Wing Chun that trained Bruce Lee. The acting is solid, the cinematography is excellent, and the fight scenes were just downright awesome! Currently streaming on Netflix, sequel is comin out soon!

Kick A** - Loved this show! Brutally harsh violence but the characters are unique, as is the story. Brilliant!

Due Date - Meh. Another case of smart trailer making, movie fizzles pretty bad tho. Pacing was horrible... Redbox at best.

How To Train Your Dragon - Another epic flick in my book! Hilarious story, beautiful animation, brilliant cast! I hope it beats Toy Story 3 for best animated, though I know that is a pipe dream...

Harry Potter 7a - Very cool movie, the best of the series so far! The 'kids' have finally hit their stride and I think this director should have done the whole series. Also, the animation of the Deathly Hallows legend is mind blowing! I'd love to see a feature length flick by whomever did that bit!

Prince of Persia - Excellent popcorn flick that doesn't take itself too seriously. Characters were fun and the effects were beautiful!

Clash of the Titans - An acceptable remake, CG was pretty, all in all nothing amazing tho. Loved that the owl from the original got a 'cameo'. My favorite character was the religious fanatic with the crazy eyes.

Inception - My favorite movie of the year, no question. If you haven't seen it, you must. One of the coolest ideas in a long while and brilliantly executed!

Expendables - A decent action flick, tho if given the choice, see RED. Jet Li's character bugged me. He's probably one of the most dangerous of the group in reality and the cast him as this whiney guy...really irked me. We saw it in the D-Box which was cool. It's a theater thing they have here where the seats move with the movie's action and there are big speakers/subs in each chair to really immerse you in the flick! If you have em in your area, give em a try!

Archer: Season 1 (TV Series) - This show just about killed PyRo and I. A hilarious FX adult cartoon, verymuch not kid safe and it may make your eyes and ears bleed as you double over laughing... You have been warned! >

Ok ok, I'll shaddup now!

cheers.

Yes!! These guys totally rocked the place! Very well worth the listen!
A few others I really enjoy:

Send Me An Angel by The Dreaming (Original from Real Life)
A bit of an emo/goth take on the song, really dig it. The Dreaming was formed and fronted by Stabbing Westward's lead singer after that band broke up.

Cars by Fear Factory featuring Gary Numan (Original by Gary Numan)
A bit heavier than the original, but very well done. Also awesome that the brought Gary in to do some of the vocals for it!

Shout 2000 by Disturbed (Original by Tears for Fears)
A great metal version of a great song! However, if you don't like Disturbed's sound, this probably wont work for you...

Immigrant Song by Demons & Wizards (Original by Led Zepplin)
A metal version of an epic rock song! Very very well done, quite similar to the original, just add a little rage!

Anyway, thats all for now...

cheers.

Ooooohh... Guess I opened the door for that'n huh?

I know they're both alive! Haven't had any face time with either of em for a while, they're quite busy with work & edumification as I understand it. Anyway, mebbe Cham or Boingo has seen them more recently than PyRo and I.

It would probably help if you'd shower at least weekly as well...

cheers.
