I love the idea, but I am very worried about balancing issues. Maybe make it so you need a specfifc ability before you can even carry unique weapons, and that for each level of this new ability allows you to carry a unique weapon of each weapon group one at a time.
Just brain storming.

when you hit an ememy, it'd be cool to see how uch damage you dealt.
Ok tidu, there is a skill that allows that, doesnt give exact numbers, but gives health bar...
It's not quite the same. Awareness more tells you the percentage of health the enemy has left, not so much as how much damage you are doing to it (though that data can be extrapolated), nor how much XP you are getting from it (that data too can be extrapolated). I think it would be very very very very cool if it DID how the damage and XP popping up in numbers above the heads of the enemies.

-A new modifier, which is acually slightly related to healing. A modifer of "Self Preservation" or something like that. It would be on splash damage weapons, and would make it so you can't hurt yourself with the weapon. It's unlucky opposite would be of "Self Mutilation" which acually harms the person a fraction of a percent every time they shoot a monster, but can't acually kill the person holding the weapon.
...
I know you're suggesting it for a weapon attribute with this modifier but there is already a skill with this effect... Caution - it's like 25% less self damage / level and I think it's 15 starting with increments of 5.
Indeed, but isn't Quickfoot also an ability? Isn't Vampirism also an ability? One could postulate that Dru doesn't lose sleep over making weapon modifiers that are already abilities.
On top of that, my suggested preservation weapon mod would completely get rid of self damage, where as with Caution maxes out at 75%

Have you ever had just a superb moment on the server? One that was etched in to your memory forever? For me there has been one particularly outstanding moment, a month or two ago. Thankfully I stored the experience in my own private journal, and I now have the opportunity to share my overdramatized re-telling of it.
I present to you "I'm Going To My Dad's Place Soon So I can't Play On The Server But I Can Make Some Forum Posts Before I Go" by Me. A true story.
...Acually it's called "An Unreal Moment" by Cloud34. Still a true story. I'll paste my journal entry, just with some slight splaleeeling, (spelling), swear removal (I like swearing ), and general editing modifications.
I must commit a recent event to an electronic medium before it fades too much with memory, else it will be lost forever. Tonight I had a very good moment playing Unreal Tournament 2004.
I was playing on Dru and Shan's server like I usually do. The map was 1on1DM-Serpentine or something like that. I joined the game a bit late, so the game was far in to the waves. The server was packed with about 18ish people. The map was a small map, as all 1 on 1 maps are, so with 18ish people and a dozen monsters it was quite... busy. I grabbed what weapons I could and I headed up to the middle where I thought I could snipe the enemy with some of my team mates in general safety. The plan more or less worked until near the end of the wave, where the monsters caught on and went up to where I was and mutilated me and some of my teammates.
The next wave started and I saught out a nearby hiding place, as I wanted to wait out the next wave. I found a pillar near by and crouched behind it, making sure the enemy couldn't see me. They couldn't, but just barely. I waited, and I could hear the sounds of battle all around me. A couple times someone would duck in behind the pillar with me, but because I was taking up the only good spot, they couldn't hide as well so the enemies would still see them and kill them. Not my fault. But anyways, the numbers of players still alive dwindled and dwindled. Then all of a sudden I was the last one left. I pulled up the player list for the server; everyone was OUT except for me (at the bottom of the scoreboard.) I knew I could wait out the mosnters, due to their ultimately flawed A.I. they would never "find" me, and they should eventually despawn after several minutes. But some umpteen other people were waiting on ME, and I was giving a boring show. The best entertainment I could give was to shake my booty.
I figured that I would instead go out in a blaze of glory, I didn't expect to last more than a couple seconds. I get up, pull out my translocater, take a breath, and I BOLT. Immediatly the monsters honed in on my moving figure and started firing, I heard dozens of BOOM BOOM BOOM sounds sounding all at the same time, almost deafening as I could hear my earphones rattling from the vibrations. My andrenline starts pumping and I call on the skills I hot gotten from the Digital Samurai server, from Hellblazer in particular, and started quickly dodging with my translocater, popping here and there in a zig zag pattern. I know that my translocater has a limited amount of translocations before it runs out and hast to recharge. I was in no position to wait for it to recharge
It was then I remembered my previous refuge from the wave before, in the middle in between the bottom and the top of the map. It's a hallway that goes around the short map, but the wall facing the inside of the map, where all the monsters are, there is a crack that runs along with the entire wall that allows you to snipe the middle, or the middle to snipe you. I figured what the heck, my trans was going to run out of juice and I would be [expletive deleted] anyways. So I hop on the ramp, that was nearby and and I go up to where I knew would be my last stand.
If any monster hadn't seen me and started shooting at me me before, they started right at that moment. BOOM BOOM BOOM, the deafening sound of a dozen brutes firing their dual rocket lauchers at my moving figure reminded me of my mortality. I ran down the hallway, the sound staying constant. I take a quck glance at the chat going on in the bottom left of the screen, and was pleased that the other players were enjoying my plight quite thoroughly. I run around more corners, going in a cricle, missles hitting just behind me. The brutes weren't smart enought to aim ahead to where I was going to be by the time their missles reached me, so as long I kept moving they would be hard pressed to hit me.
I kept running in cricles, too afraid to pause for even an instant. I used my trans to try to stay ahead of the wall of rockets that was slowly gaining on me. After half a dozen laps or so, I realized I could do this indefinatly. But I didn't wan't to keep everyone waiting. I stopped and turned around. I saw the hall compeltely distorted by explosions, a sight that was screenshotted by my brain and has taken up permanent residence in my noggen.
Then I made a snap decision. I would toss my translocater pod across the line of fire, and trans accross at the last second to try to throw off the brutes. This could give my the edge I needed to pick off the brutes one by one. The instant I threw my pod I knew I had made a critical error. It wasn't too late. Knowing would would happen if I pressed the tranlocation key on my mouse, I faced a dilemma. There is a saying that "The show must go on" but I knew the show I put on would get monotnous quickly. Barely a fraction of a second passed; I had made my decision
My avatar exploded in a shower of body parts, the game over. I smiled, looking at the chat. My performance was well recieved.

I think I got out all the swears and the like.
Anyone else got some stories from the server they would like to share?

Ho Ho Hold the payments, as the commercials go.
Christmas is just like any other holiday to me (extra pay, woo), except that I think this one is more "celebrated" by stores and large corporations, then by Joe from down the street.

If you have any suggestions for Dru's RPG mut mut, please post them here. So we can keep it organized :O
My suggestions:
-An artifact that teleports you within a certain radius of the closest monster. This would be especially helpful when you can't find the last rabbit after searching the map for freaking 10 minutes and some of the spectators are always going "OMG just die" while other spectators are saying "I just saw it! It's over by the- oh wait it's gone. Let me find it again"
-"Sturdy" modifier to be modifed to include immunity to the Titan affect. THEN they will acually be useful in invasion.
-"Piercing" modifier to be modified to pierce mercenary and queen shields. Once again, this would acually make the modifier useful in invasion. Otherwise we will still be hearing on the server "ANYONE WANT MY PIERCING MINIGUN?" to which I always reply to over the voice comm "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA that's a good one."
-EXP for healing people. Though I know this could get exploited pretty easily, and I am hard pressed to think of a system that is exploit free.
-On that thread of thought, how about an increased chance of getting a healing gun! Right now it's really really really really small, and I've gotten about 5-10 infinites for every healing gun I get. It should more be the other way around. Healing guns really help out with the whole team work thing, which I think should be encouraged.
-Make vanilla + weapons more common. They should be the most common modifier, but it is somewhat rare that I see a regular + weapon.
And that's all I have right now. Anyone else got suggestions for Dru, though he might not need/want any?
p.s. Thank you Dru for making a great mut mut.

I thought I might as well get the ball rolling in this subforum. Use this thread to post about yourself, so your fellow playerses knows mores aboutses youses, etc.
My name is Travis, and I'm an alcoho-err wrong place
My nickname is Cloud34, but my real name is Travis . When I'm not playing on the server, I'm either at work (I'm currently a security guard) or playing around in photoshop (buy my stuff >:0 or you're fired).
I started playing at this server back in August, when the previous server I freqented (Digital Samurai) went down permanently.
And.... I think that's about it. I'm about as complex as a three sided triangle.
